Something good
Hi Shadows-walker
Good news about the Blue Badge I don't drive but mine gets used all over as my friends and family drive me places. It can be beneficial when feeling quite unwell and in lots of pain.
Also pleased you are getting some equipment to help you too. I love my bath lift and was like a child with a new toy when it arrived. I hadn't been able to bathe in the bath for years because I couldn't get back out as my knees would pop follwed by creaking, cracking and splat!
Enjoy my friend and sending you giggling fluffies and smiles

Thank you put a smile on my face this morning after yesterday x and fluffies to you to x
Hi Shadows-walker
That is two lots of wonderful news to read about. I haven't driven for a long time now, but it is exciting that you have your blue badge. Hopefully you will soon be able to soak in a stress free bath knowing that you will be able to get in and out really easily and safely.
All my hopes and dreams for you

Wonderful news about the Blue Badge and getting the means of having a bath. It is so wonderful when you are in pain to be able to have a good soakx
Good news about the blue badge I'd be lost without my bath aid. So that's good for you too. Can you get blue badge without being on pip etc I wonder.
Yes you can I have applied for pip but haven't been interview yet , you get form from your council you can do that bit on phone they will fill it in for you ask for your details including your diagnosis and GP name they send it to you to be signed you need a passport photo no hair in eyes etc ,you sign send back they contact GP it took about 10 days tops it was really easy .i take it you haven't got one didn't they suggest it when you were given a bath ade ? If you have difficulties round the house you know social services will help with bits and pieces I have even been offered a stair lift which I don't need and told them just wanted a hand rail ,I hope you get some help have you applied for pip ? Chris x
No can't steal myself to go through what seems to be the complete hell everyone else seems to be going through. You see I can actually walk. Without a stick the length of a bus. I can't seem to find a way in my head to convince others that every step is pure agony as I'm a fighter and won't give in. So when others say oh you look so well and I feel so awful I can't see how I can make someone who's trying to not help, believe. I've gone through the questions on the web site. & I'm thinking well actually on a bad day I can't even put my own underwear on but I don't have many of those. So how on earth does anyone have any success. Oh and yes I have had help from social services and I have a seat to enable me to get out if the bath from a sitting position as I can't get up from the floor without assistance. Ever. Even on dry land. I'm OK once upright. Well most if the time. It's been a god send. & I'm still managing the stairs all be it with breaks. Thanks for your reply. X
So can I on a good day but you have to remember the bad ,no one asked me that question I just told them my diagnoses I explained that it takes my neighbour 10 mins to walk to gps and takes me 35 mins and they said are your determined you use it or lose it , the issues you have I had in work so when I did finally drop the ball I dropped big time why not speak to ur GP first and see what they say coz really I had no problems at all handed the form in week last Tuesday and like I said it came yesterday , the bathroom aides have arrived and the bath seat is on charge keep your chin up , I got lots od post to answer but I have a really bad head today ,so I am going to answer everybody tomorrow I keep hitting wrong keys on iPad you take care x
Hi Shadow walker, congratulations, i have blue badge and it helps immensrly. Can i ask what bathroom equipment you are having as i am awaiting a visit. Thanks Sharon
I have had 2 perching stools 1 for bathroom and one for kitchen ,they look really big in my little house but they are really comfy really pleased with them they call them stools but they are little chairs and aqua joy premier plus bath lift you can look at that on u tube ,I can't use it till Tuesday as occupational health officer coming round to check it before I can use it , I am really surprised I got that as she told me there had been one in stores which had been returned ,but that if it had gone I would not be able to have one , as she was not allowed to order any more in because of cuts, but I have had a brand new one so I don't know how that was managed but I am greatfull . Also had a hand rail fitted up the stairs ,she had suggested a stair lift but I told her I was not ready for that yet I need to use my legs and yes I can have problems with the stairs but I think that is not appropriate for me yet . Hope that helps how long have you been waiting for vist , it took about 5 weeks from my initiall contact good luck Chris x
Thankx for that chris, i have been waiting over 6 months, i can't believe you saw someone in 5 weeks! Must be down to location i am in Glasgow. Am off to look up aqua joy .
I am in mid Wales , and what was nice is that I was in school with the sister of woman from social services so she new me , and me well and last time she saw me I was going on about absaleing down church tower for charity , new how active I was and was really shocked at the difference in me, it is very rural where I live so we pretty much know everyone the population is 2000 in the town where I live and about 60,000 in the whole county ,Wales gets a lot of stick about the health service etc , but bits of it are very good and because I live in the middle of Wales it is a little bit like the Hugh grant film the English man who went up a hill and came down a mountain , if you have nt seen it , I can recommend it . I am sorry your waiting so long have you got anyone who could give them a bit of a shove what about your local MP , are local one is Kirsty Williams she is in charge of our welsh assembly , I see her occasionally and she doesn't actually know me but she recognises me she has run into over the years at different things and locally here we do chase her if things arnt right and she does chase things for us ,even things like fences for OAP next to a local school , you are entitled to help ,someone else contacted social services for me , told them I needed help it was a friend of my daughters mother , when she found out how unwell I was , do you have a communitie support shop or office it's a local charity we have here they organised a dog walker for me free of charge ,obviously we all support it we make things for them to sell we give them things we don't won't anymore etc ,and they do things like take people to hospital if they can't drive ect . Are local general hospital is 43 mile away in England ,basically we support each other , take care Chris x
