I asked for my PIP to be re-looked at after receiving 10 points for DLA and nothing for mobility...

My doctor advised me to do this and has done a letter supporting my claim.

The main reason i did this was because a do use a pill box due to forgetting to take my meds + communicating verbally and reading and understanding + i was told that i could walk 200 meters which sound like a dream to me..

Sorry for going on but i called DWP on the 9/5/4 and was told i would be contacted in 5 days, i called them again on the 23/5 and was told that no-one had contacted me, i said thats why i'm calling and was told that i'd gt a call in 5 days.. still no call and i was ready to hang my boxing gloves up.

I then received a call on Monday from the most horrible woman, I tried to explain that i do use a dossett box but she just said u fill it yourself so 0 points.I then tried communication but she said your talking to me so 0 points i then tried reading but she said 0 points again and thats just say your after mobility...

I then said that i have a letter supporting my claim from my doctor and instantly she became rather nice, and asked me to send it in..

I have recorded the letter to them but i cant believe how worthless and degraded i felt by her attitude towards me and anyone else how comes into contact with her..

I not a greedy person but i don't communicate anymore.. i cant sort my bills out my partner has to help me and i cant walk 200mtrs so im putting my boxing gloves on..

Hugs and good wishes to you all

Viv

It is terrible we have to jump through hoops to get help and made to feel we are greedy, etc. Yet others who are not sick seem to get help thrown at them from all directions.

Hi jillylin

Thanks for your reply.

Thats what i wanted to say to her, the old me would've read her the riot act but the me now just seems to take it..

Lol when i sent my doctors letter it said that i have to use a dossett box due to getting confused and in a muddle with my meds also that i cant walk more than 50mtres without pain, and i dont leave the house without someone being with me and my partner also has to sort my bills.... I felt like adding so put that in your pipe and smoke it,...

Lol again i also put in it how rude she was and added all the things she said... I bet the conversation was'nt recorded for customer service...

I'm not expecting to hear anything soon!!!!!!!

Hi Bren,

What a torrid time you had. I agree with you that these people the so called assessors seem to think their position in society is higher than us because we are disabled. Bren I feel ery strongly about this but I am going to change the subject as I am very aware of our own rules and I would be setting the wrong example.

Have you calmed down ? How are you ? Usually I feel worse after this sort of head to head.

The rain has just stopped and give it another half hour the sun will be out Thank goodness!

Lol yes i'm at peace with myself again... my deep breathing always helps, and now sitting in the garden looking at beautiful flowers...

Mind you a big black cloud is coming but it looks like rain and not my mood!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if i've broken any rules i did'nt mean to.....

So sorry Bren to hear what you have been through. If I said what my husband and I really feel about some of the ATOS assessors I would have more than a slap on the wrist. Some of the people I have spoken to at the DWP have actually been lovely and very helpful but others seem to have no compassion at all. It seems to me as though the scoring system for PIP is much tighter than for DLA and as long as you can get round a problem however convulated the journey they class it that you can do it. i will be one of those who will go from DLA to PIP early next year and I only said to my husband this morning that with the scoring system I think I will just miss out and they have certainly tightened up on the mobility side of it. Don't give up hope as fingers crossed the supporting letter from your doctor might make them turn in your favour. my thoughts are with you as my husband and I have both worn the T shirt. Please let us know how you get on..
