I have had a phone call today off the people sorting out my PIP claim, now they wont tell me any information, except my case is being assessed today, but I will hear within 7 days in the form of a letter the outcome.....I had to give them my bank details, should they have these after the assessment was decided, anyone else had this.....But they have said that I would be back dated to 26th June 2013....Anyone had a call about this or actually got the PIP award, as I got a funny feeling they be sending letter saying "sorry but you don't meet the criteria", as its not bad enough to have this bloody fibro, but I got arthritis appearing in knees, hips and I got a sneaky feeling ankles and fingers......

Hello Pipmain,.
Sorry in advance, sorry to worry you but it is advisable not to give your bank details over the phone unless you have confirmed the caller can be identified by you ringing them back, ie: on a main number you know is known to be connected to the company
My advice would be to consider ringing them back to check that someone rang you today? It may very well be legitimate but I would consider making sure in my personal opinion
2. Communicate personal information only via phone or secure web sites. In fact:
When conducting online transactions, look for a sign that the site is secure such as a lock icon on the browser’s status bar or a “https:” URL whereby the “s” stands for “secure” rather than a “http:”.
Also, beware of phone phishing schemes. Do not divulge personal information over the phone unless you initiate the call. Be cautious of emails that ask you to call a phone number to update your account information as well.

If they've read the details to you and asked you to confirm them this is not so bad as they have got them in front of them . Please let us know how you get on if you decide to double check, was it the DWP, Job centre or a medical assessment company?
Please don't worry but I would consider investigating to confirm, this is what I would consider doing anyway. I look forward to hearing if anyone else has been contacted in this way?
Best Wishes

Yes I was abit taken back, but she said if card was not to hand they would send paperwork out....I just thought they would assess and then ask for your details....All they asked me to confirm was my doctor and date of birth, I asked them what date claim be back dated to and they then told me, so it probably was them, but yes being caught on the hop can have a devastational effect if someone does clear out your account, I got the grand amount of £8.00 in account and that is my total savings,
Hi. I hope this puts your mind at ease, when I phoned up for the PIP form I had to give them my bank details, GP details, National insurance number and date of birth, luckily I had these at hand, as my sister had checked it up on the internet. but like Emma has said phone them tomorrow just to make sure>
I hope it's good news for you, may I ask what part of the country your in? I'm in the south east, so have no idea how long I will have to wait for a reply
