Hi Nothingwrong.

I honestly have only had a weird feeling on my face, I had sinusitis a few years ago and recently over the last eighteen months or so I have had a tingling feeling when a light touch is on my face but if it is a normal touch it is fine.

Probably a side effect of the drugs we are on.

Take great care and kindest regards

Terry

the soles of my feet and the pads on my fingers burn too.

You probably have peripheral neuropathy in your feet and hands. Check yourself for diabetes. Or it can happen if you drink too much. But I have it and I'm neither diabetic nor do I drink, at all. Doctors can't find what the cause is, however it's unlikely for a nerve damage appear out of nowhere, it's most likely a symptom for something more serious and tricky.

Check peripheral neuropathy and all types of RLS.

Put feet and hands under cold water when the pain is unbearable. The only thing that helps.

for peripheral neuropathy check your medicine history at your pharmacy and see if you have ever taken a fluoroquinolone. It's a antibiotic that has caused this type of nerve damage in a lot of people. The USA Food and Drug Administration and the Health Canada have put black box warnings on this drug. The effects can be lifelong that's why you should check your records.

Hi nothingwrong

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Many other members have expressed that their skin feels exactly the same from time to time, and it appears to be a Fibro issue. I have pasted you a couple of links below relating to Fibro symptoms:

fibroaction.org/Pages/What-...

nhs.uk/Conditions/Fibromyal...

I genuinely hope that you find the links useful, and I really hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your issues. If your symptoms persist for a prolonged period or get worse, it would be advisable to consult your GP to ensure that there is nothing else going on for you.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Omg just read your links and this describes me to a t. Thanks for your reply. Have you tried gabapentin ?' I have a new prescription for this as amitriptyline sent me to sleep on 1 tablet which is not good when driving to work everyday

No, I have never tried Gabapentin as I have Nortriptyline and it does okay for me. Nortripyline is the same as Amitriptyline but without the sedative.

Good luck with your new prescription.

Hi nothingwrong sad to say but I too have this on my right inner thigh. Just clothes brushing on it hurts and the sunburn analogy is it down to a tee :o(

Hi nothingwrong

Yes I also suffer the same symptoms, and have done for about 4 years now. It's a hard sensation to describe to a Dr who hasn't had it. I suffer down my left hand side. Constantly in my upper leg and my forearm. I don't know about you, but if I get stressed/upset it can get much worse in a matter of minutes.

My Dr prescribed Pregablin which has really helped. Didn't take it completely away, but certainly helps. I tried a few other drugs before this but didn't like the side effects. My Dr treats this as a neurological condition.

I hope you get some relief soon.

Best wishes GG

Yes I have this exactly...sometimes I can't lean back on a seat because it causes too much pain....any seat-car, chair...even a comfy chair-makes it hard to sleep-I agree that the sunburn analogy is a good one

nothingwrong profile image
nothingwrong in reply toBoronia

Yes sometimes leaning back on a chair is agony and in bed, I have to lay on my side and if I go onto my back in the night I wake up and have to get up straight away which usually means I'm dizzy and fall over, my family love all the entertainment I give them!!!! They are great so I don't mind

Did you ever get it figured out? It sounds identical to me and I would love to hear from you any information or diagnosis you have.

If you normally get dizzy when you stand up you may want to check out Pots syndrome. I was just diagnosed with Pots and was getting dizzy and passing out when I would change positions. I too have skin burning or on fire but don't know the cause yet. I will be heading to Mayo soon and will try to remember to post what I find out. Good luck and hopes this might help 🙏

Hello I suffer from a feeling of sunburn all over from my scalp to the soles of my feet Most days I can ignore it and on bad days paracetamol and a bath helps. It is the soles of my feet that can be the most painful , then a bowl of cold water helps.

Of course that is not going to help your back but I was wondering if a cold pain reliever gell such as ice magic might help until you find somthing better,

Hope you find help soon sue xx

Hi nothingwrong

I pity you as I have had exactly the same on and off for nearly 5 years it is to do with neuropathic pain and your description is spot on. When I ask my husband to put my pain killing patches on my back he always seems to be able to put his finger on exactly the right spot as he says it is red hot to the touch even in mid winter when the rest of me can be frozen. I feel as though I could cook eggs on it.x

Here's wishing you all the best..try an ice pack it helps for me plus I also use tiger balm..it cools it down a bit even though its not hot to the touch..it just seems burning hot for me .sweetdreams1234

Hi I am going through this right now but no doctor can tell me what it is I cry often with the pain and the burning ,clothes are a nightmare cos they make burning worse xx

After ankle surgery 1 1/2 years ago, I developed a burning feeling (like sunburn) down my back, butt & thighs. It is actually worse when sitting down in a car, on the couch or chair. It feels like it is burning worse at night if I try to sleep on my back. There is mild relief when I lay on my side. Forget about sitting on non-breathable materials like leather! I was hospitalized due to lack of sleep until being put on gabapentin which helps a little. No neurologists have figured out the cause of this burning after multiple MRI's.

I was put on celexa for anxiety and later read that this is a side effect. I have been off the medicine for 4 years now and still have the side effects. Burning down my lower beck into my my butt and down the back of my leg. Also sometimes on the bottom of my foot. Have you got any answers?
