Hi Angie, yes I think the majority of us fibromites have this , not very pleasant, but it seems to be a symptom of fibro, think its cos the nerve endings are affected as well as the muscles, tendons, & ligaments,...for whatever reason it isn't very nice is it....gentle hugs...Dee x

Yes I have the twitching eye one. It comes and goes of its own accord no rhyme nor reason to it. My husband has that twitching leg thing and we have put it down to one of his medications.x

Hi Angel, yes I do get this quite often, sometimes it's just my leg, others it's my entire body and like Sophie I've woken my self up with the jerk (in those heady days when I slept more than I do at the moment :o ) . There have been posts here about this subject previously which I will try and find for you :-)

I get what I call the 'shakes' sometimes because I've been over-doing it, other times I've no idea why, but it really aches afterwards, I'm glad its not just me!

Hi Angel2011

I also have this from time to time and I must admit that it is not pleasant. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices website relating to a possible cause for the complaint. I genuinely hope that you find the link useful:

As with any new issue or if a continuing problem gets worse it is always best to discuss the issue with your GP.

All my hopes and dreams for you

all the time ....and muscle spasms in my back and arms and yes also my eyes twitch ..i do think the eyes are more because of me being tired ? ....but it is getting more frequent.

Hi, yep I get Restless legs, plus muscle spasms, hubby reckons its like sleeping with the alien!!!. Prescribed Ropinerol for restless legs and hey it works, plus sends me off to sleep. I get muscle spasms in my chest which make my whole body lift off the bed and wake me up. My eye was so bad the other week I couldn't drive or do anything, but its settled down now. My hands spasm making me drop things, really frustrating, cooking is a real problem with hot pans.

Most of it is part of fibromyalgia, but if its bothersome then sometimes Gabapentin can help with spasms, your gp will advise, but don't just live with it, there are drugs that can help and your gp will know what should suit you. Bear in mind that the drugs are like the pill, what suits one doesn't always suit another, but there is usually something that can help.

Research says exercise helps, not so sure, I still get spasms even with some exercise, but getting stressed does seem to make it much worse. So keep calm and carry on, but pls see your GP for help.

Gentle hugs, Lynn x
