Oh Bless you Huskybike it is a relief to give it a name isn't it. I did the same then you will pick yourself up and start looking into it. So if you need any help you just give us a shout that is what we are here for to help ok. Let me know and we can have a chat. xgins
Hi there, I am sorry to read you have fibro, the best advice I would give is to lower your stress, that can be hard to do I know, and rest, rest and rest again. wishing you all the best. Trish
Gentle hugs. Having an answer is a relief, isn't it. It shows us we are not going mad and imagining stuff. It takes time to come to terms with having the diagnosis too, I think we have to go through a bereavement on what was and come to terms with what is, if you see what I mean.
At least you will have the fantastic folk here to lean on. They have helped me so much.
Hugs
Jillyxx
Morning, Now that bit of stress is over, it's usually a relief. As you say you can start dealing with it. There's loads of good advice around but don't immerse yourself in it. Too much of a good thing and all that. There are loads of links on the right and in the help button at the top of the page. Go well and don't be afraid to ask as, we've all been there. I was only diagnosed 6 weeks ago though I've had symptoms for ages, so we're in a similar place.
Gentle hugs
Morning huskybike, so pleased you now have an answer, this is a great site to be on for company, help, sympathy and laughter, I'm ure we can all help pull you thru this, once you have accepted it, it's just a question of taking one day at a time and pacing yourself, try not to have too much stress, I've had it for over 50yrs and my motto is, " it could be a lot worse " it could be the big C , take care my fibro friend sending you gentle hug and look forward to reading your posts.....Dee x
Hi Huskybike, I was diagnosed a few months ago and have found this site which has been both helpful and uplifting. It's great to finally know that you have a "real" illness after probably being told it was this and that and nothing. As I was very kindly reminded yesterday, everyone is different and we all handle our Fibro in different ways and this site is great for a vent a laugh or if you just want a little sympathy As a newbie to Fibro and the forum I would say, read the advice, it is usually good and don't despair it is not the end of the world. My best wishes to you and hope you are as well as can be.... Susan
Glad to hear you have found the community so helpful.
As newly diagnosed please do read our FAQ providing information from the FibroAction website, if you haven't seen it already that is. Here's the link;

Hi Huskybike,
you are probably relieved to finally have a diagnosis. It is a great start to having a plan of action and a way forward for your life, no longer stuck in the limbo of continuous tests and waiting.
I have found the people here to be helpful and ever so friendly and I hope you do too.
Big gentle Hugs,

Hi Huskybike,
Just wanted to add my support, my daughter was just recently diagnosed too. We have had 10 years of wrong diagnoses and being told it's all in your head, so we really understand how you feel. It is a shock though, to know that this is a life long illness, but as Dee says, it could be a lot worse. Give yourself time to take it in by all means, but don't let it overwhelm you.
Gentle hugs, LJ

Hello Huskybike, I know exactly how you feel. I was sent a letter from the rheumatologist saying I had low back pain & fibromyalgia, my doctor said I just had arthritus. The rheumatologist told me yesterday that yes I definitely have fibromyalgia and osteoarthritus. My manager is coming to see me next tuesday to discuss work options. he hospital didn't seem optimistic that I would be able to return to work. Like you I have been very tearful, I had hoped I would be able to get well enough to return to work. I have always with small children ( birth to 3Years), I don't know what the future holds, but at least on here you feel a bit more normal and everyone is very friendly and supportive. Gentle hugs XX

Fibro can take time to calm down, but it will I promise you. You will eventually work out the medication that suits you. I am not saying it is easy, it can be a long painful journey but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Can you swim?
hi husky bike iti s difficult when you are first diagnosed but at least you know what u have got now you do have to come to terms with losing one life & adapting to another there are plenty ofus on this site who will help you sending gentle hugs.xx
Hi Huskybike
I just wanted to say to you that it is good to cry when you feel the need. It is a psychological sign that you need to release all your pent up emotions so that you can move on with things.
I think when we get a diagnosis of this kind it is tantamount to a bereavement, and we always cry when we lose something or somebody that we love.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken x
Dear Huskybike
I am sorry to hear you have Fibro.
My best advice is when you are in pain, if possible have a hot bath and lie down in it until it starts to get colder, it really works for me. I also bought an electric blanket and that helps in the same way, I lie flat on it with no pillow. It takes time to get your meds right, but you will. It gets better.
