Hi all off to see ruematologist tomorrow to get diagnosis . Had symptoms since 1997. My question is. I had to find a part time job as am unable to work full time . Due to fatigue, severe back pain, confusion among other things. Can I claim any benefit if I am diagnosed with fibro as it effects us financially . Any help would be brilliant

have you applied for PIP? I don't know about any benefits available but there are some information if you look at the extreme right of the page. Where it says browse by category.

Hi there,it very much depends on how many hours you work.I believe that if you work under 16 hours a week you are still entitled to get benefits plus you can get housing/cancel tax benefit and working tax credits if you have children.You can also apply for PIP whether or not you are working.It may be worth your while contacting your nearest CAB office and/or job centre to get advise regarding your entitlements.Good luck xx

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) which has now changed to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in most areas, is available to working people. It is a benefit designed to to compensate for your disability and therefore not means tested.

I think you have already been given some good advice in that your local CAB will be able to point you in the right direction. I have also pasted below the telephone number and webpage link for PIP in case you wanted to have a read of this?
