Sorry you're having these horrid symptoms. It's really scary to not know what the matter is.

Have you had an MRI of the brain? When I first reported to my neurologist that was the first test he ordered. Have you seen a neurologist?

no I go back to my internal doctor the 11th I have to be referred to be able to see one and it has been the biggest run around I have had to go to OB who did laparoscopic surgery and said my female parts looked wonderful, then back to internal doctor who then sent me to Gastro doctor (who almost killed me) so I got referred to a different Gastro doctor who went up and down and the only thing he found was inflammation said I had IBS and Reflux, and said maybe I needed to see a Rheumatologist who said oh you have fibromyalgia and we will check your vitamin D (it was low), I laugh fibromyalgia won't make you dizzy, verdigo, black out!! It's been pure HELL I have three children that I am afraid is going to go thru this one day as well!! I am adopted so I don't know what is in my DNA!!

Hi downhills30

I am so sorry to read that you are having such horrid and demoralising health problems at the moment. My wife has Primary Progressive MS. She saw a consultant who sent her for an MRI of the brain and it clearly shows that her myelin is damaged and she has lesions on the brain. I was wondering if you have had an MRI to look for this? If not I think my first port of call would be to ask my GP to send me for an MRI.

I sincerely hope that you find some resolution to this situation and please keep us up dated with how you get on.

Hi downhills30. Sorry you're having such a rough time. The symptoms u describe sound exactly like mine & I too was concerned I had MS. if u look on the NHS website about Fibro & diagnosis, it states that GP must first rule out MS before diagnosing Fibro. I used this info & insisted GP refer me to neurologist for MRI.

The MRI showed no sign if MS and Fibro was reconfirmed again!

I do suggest u request an MRI. For your peace of mind and to ensure u have correct diagnosis.

Good luck xxx

Hi,

I'm so sorry you're feeling so dreadful.

I have all the same symptoms too. It is difficult to believe fibro is causing them, I know. I do have some spine problems as well which don't help, but I'm under the National Neurological hospital and have had numerous MRI scans because I have a cyst in my brain, and they say it's definitely fibro causing most of the symptoms. My dizziness and blackouts are caused by Eustachian tube dysfunction in my ears, so it might be worth seeing a neuro-otolgist. And I agree that you can never be too sure, so do get a brain MRI scan done to be on the safe side.

Do hope you get some help soon.

Hey everyone thank y'all so much for the reply's I have felt so alone in all this, I am going to my doctor the 11th, I am going to tell her I really want a MRI, like y'all said just piece of mind, I never heard fibro causing dizziness, blurred vision, blacking out, burning feet just at night, none of those I have heard are a symptom, I also have IBS which has messed with getting the right dx because of all the symptoms that has alone too, and has anyone had pain in one area for a long time? mine is my ribs, I ache all different area's and get shotting and throbbing pains in different area's but my ribs hurt dull to sever!!! don't know if that is part of my vitamin issues or part of everything else going on!!!

Hi there you must be absolutely distressed and your fibro will go through the roof and believe you me fibro is the biggest mimicker of illness. I've had some stomach pains that I know now to be fibro related and I black out regular and I've had epilepsy ruled out so yes this could be fibro but only in my experience. fibro is tissue and joints not bone and myalgia is muscle so it can receive pain anywhere. If your worried about your children and you have black outs from exhaustion then, you could ask to be referred to a fibro management course so you can learn to manage your particular symptom's. And of course you could get a second opinion to help reassure you hopefully that would help you really don't need the stress fibro is a volcanoe waiting to explode so by managing the stress it keeps it to just a little bubbling one. So hope this helps love and blessings xx

I have had dizziness that predates my diagnosis of fibro but then I also have anxiety and agoraphobia although these can also be associated with Fibro, I now realize.

Infections of the inner ear can cause dizziness as can Meniere's Disease (althought hat often causes sickness with it too). The problem is so many things can cause dizziness and vertigo which may or may not be related to Fibro.

My brother has PPMS but he doesn't suffer dizziness and vertigo particularly. But some people with relapse-remit MS may. Everyone's symptoms vary so a visit to your GP may help you get to the cause of it. Best wishes. x
