I hate going to the doctor anytime they cannot explain a pain they blame on the fibromyalgia.

I have the same problem.,even when isaw a rheumatologist despite having visual symptoms of lupus he dismissed them and all he kept on about was losing weight and dieting and my ca 125 tests both of which weren't his concern and he failed to listen to me when i said I ahd lost weight so couldnt diet as didnt eat anything.mine too put everything down to fibro.arguing with dr for couple of years .good luck when you see yours

hi, i understand how you feel. the pains vary from day to day. many things change from visual problems, dizziness, tendon pains along with all other usual problems. keep seeing your gp, they will eventually send you to a specialist ie rhuematologist then help from trustcare in your area.

I try to avoid going to the doctor if at all possible. Don't find them helpful and the experience of going and having to explain what's wrong makes me majorly stressed out and therefore WORSE than I was before I saw them. I have my meds on repeat (though I'm considering stopping them) and I try to manage fibro myself through rest, diet (healthy eating and weight loss), supplements, gentle exercise (bike) and relaxation. The little I see of doctors the better! And I AM managing fibro on my own. I can do most things I want to as long as I remember to rest and relax in between.

I can truly emphathise with you as I've had this for 8 years since my diagnosis.Iam sure that there are some good docs out there but it's finding them! Xxx

My doc says its a mystery, which I quite like because it means I'm a medical mystery as they always have difficulty diagnosing my health problems :)

On a serious note though its a shame you feel that way as having a good relationship with your GP can be very beneficial for all kinds of things.

It takes ourselves to explain that we don't believe its connected to the fibro especially if the pain is a different new type of pain. I am going through that at the moment and I explained that the pain was new and different to normal, the normal pain is still there and that this other pain runs alongside it.

Be strong and persevere, we have to speak up to them - after all what do they know? they're not wearing your body or your pain :)

Fluffies for you :) xxxsianxxx :)

No but Hi I live in Sunderland :)

lucky you,i used to have a really good relationship with my dr until 2 years ago when things got worse-more than just fibro-symptoms of lupus and i believe OC .since then have been fobbed off so many times and not listened to.if left to him i would never have known I had gallstones and now he doesn't ever take me seriously.

Hello Mazzer2,

Unfortunately our Fibro friendly Healthcare Directory has no information for your area at the present time. I wondered if you might like to contact the support group below as they may know of a Fibro Friendly GP;

fibroaction.org/Pages/Newca...

Also I found this post about Tyne & Wear and I wondered if there was anything within the post which may be of help to you;

healthunlocked.com/fibroact...

Please do email us info@fibroaction.org with any details of healthcare professionals you find so they can be added to the directory for your area.

Best Wishes

Emma :)

Hi

I can understand your frustration when doctors do that, especially as we are just as likely to get other health issues on top of the Fibro.

I hardly ever go to my drs coz I get so many pains that come and go, I just blame the fibro, drs cant help except prescribe paracetamols. So dont really see the point!! However just recently visited my dr as the pain had got so bad, he now thinks I have thyroid problems.

Hi there

I hope that you are as well as can be? Despite having a really great GP if I see other doctors they put everything down to Fibro! So I try and stick with my usual GP.

Take care
