You could call them or get someone else to but when I got another form just a few months after the previous one they told me if I didn't complete it iI'd lose ESA. I hope you've got someone who can help you complete it. If not maybe calling and saying is impossible for you to complete due to your disability they'll arrange someone to help you or something. Good luck!

Hi. AS moonstonebright said if you don't fill it in, they will stop your money, try and get some help filling it in.

good luck

I'm wondering if ESA is the right benefit for you, it may be a thought to see CAB for advice or one of the other Disability rights websites.

Hi Lorraine,

Unfortunately I think that the way things have been set up that there will be annual re-applications required by the DWP even if year in the support group, which to my mind is completely stupid. I would however hope that you have retained a copy of your pervious application form, which I would then use to fill in, almost letter to letter, (but adding in any deterioration you may have had in the past year). They then can't trip you up by saying you said one thing last time and then something different this. Another useful thing might be to get a letter from your GP substantiating that your condition hasn't improved since your last application, and pop that in with the form.

You have my full sympathy, I loathe filling forms in, and as others have suggested the CAB could be very helpful to you, but even if you decided to go down that route, I still think a copy of your previous application would prove very useful.

I wish you all the very best, and do please let us know how you get on :-)

Foggy x

Hi Lorraine,

To keep receiving ESA you must fill in the same form every year, buti think you can only be in the work related group for 1 year, then, next time, you will be in the support group. (Which is The best group to be in) there are only 2 groups at present. These groups replace Incapacity benefit. If you aren't in either group then you must be signing on fortnightly and be subject to sanctions! So my advice to you is keep filling in the forms and definitely keep a photocopy to refer back to. At the moment our social welfare system is a shambles and very stressful to navigate through. Good luck x
