Appeal! straight away.. Phone them up and tell them you want to appeal, they will then do the mandatory reconsiderations, you won't get ESA while they are reconsidering it, have you got a partner who works? as this will affect your ESA, if you have no other income, claim income support, (I put a post on here yesterday about what you can claim while you wait, heading: they haven't told us about this)

There are two types of ESA, contribution-based ESA, last for a year if you have enough NI contributions and your in the WRAG group, if your in the support group there is no time limit.

You may be able claim income-related employment and support allowance instead. Any other income or savings either you or a partner has is taken into account. If you have to much you may not be eligible.

How many points did you get?

I hope this helps, I'm sure someone else will also give you advice.

Good luck

I'm not sure about a joint claim. but if your partner don't appeal, he will lose any back pay they would pay to him if he won his appeal.

if thats yr only source of income & u have no savings fone them up or get yr partner to,tell them u have no money & they should pay u at a rate that they give a couple,it may be lower than u were getting until yr appeal is heard, good luck x
