Can it be fibro

Talking to a colleague about my problems and she said if I've only got pain in legs and feet it can't be fibro. Can anyone advise me. She also said you won't get muscle twitching all over only on the painful sites. She's one of those who knows everything

Not helpful! Is she a fibro expert??? Clearly not. So ignore her. Big gentle hug x

As said above ignore her, she knows nothing about Fibro. you can tell her that us people with fibro knows you can get twitching muscles all over, if she know any different then I suggest she share her wisdom with the medical profession and they can get their heads together and find a cure ;)

I have health anxiety and things like this just make it worse

Hi Holly. Trouble is, once someone knows someone who has it, they take it that their diagnosis is the only possible one. Doctors get it wrong all the time. My physio certainly did. Anyway, even if you are only having pain in one area, you could still have it. Try listing every little thing from head to toe - migraines, titinitus, sore throat etc. Your doctor will know which are relevant. She or he can then put you through some testing, refer you to a Rheumatologist and you will get a full diagnosis then. Took about 10 months for me.

Everything varies, ailments, doctors, diagnosis etc. I cannot give you a diagnosis, nor can someone who knows someone. Don't take their comments to heart. They may even have been trying [clumsily] to reassure you.

Soft hugs

Ask her how long she went to medical school and until she has fibro or is a doctor ... She can shut her mouth it's hard enough to get diagnosed in the first place !

My pain works in pairs my legs feet and my arms n back

Sometimes only one half of me hurts (mostly legs and feet) and others it's everywhere

I also have muscle twitches in places that aren't always hurting at the time

I am so bored of people and unhelpful comments !!

Hi Holly,

Unless your work colleague has fibromyalgia herself, or is a medical professional ( and even some of these don't understand!!) I don't think she can really comment on where or when you feel your symptoms.

Even us diagnosed with fibromyalgia have a variety of different symptoms.... one day the pain in my legs/feet may be worse ( like you this is where I get most of my pain) another day it may be my abdomen and IBS .

Don't pay attention to her ... it will only upset you... which will only lead to making your symptoms worse... speak to your doctor if you are concerned about any new pains. Take care xx

Hi Holly, All of what everyone else has said is true. I suffer with Pain in my legs and feet but then other days it comes on some where else. My brother and few other friends didn't believe me so I printed something off the internet about Fibro and gave it to them, it certainly changed their attitude towards me. Ignore other peoples comments unless they can see it then they don't believe it. You must go to your Doctor to get it confirmed. Take Care, Love Aisha x

Just make sure you rule out peripheral neuropathy. But Fibro is different for everyone! This gal sounds like an immature person who couldn't just say, "Gee, I really don't know. But I hear your pain." PS, I get muscle twitches too!

Where she get her medical degree off the back of a corn flakes box I started with pain in my right hip and knee and I had muscle twitches and spasms so you don't have to have it all over but it does tend to spread over time well mine has anyway. Gentle hugs. Sithy
