Did anyone watch that programme tonight on the Internet retailer Amazon. I will not use them again, they treated there workers terribly. Plus they pay all there taxes abroad not to the uk

Noting to do with fibro
Yes ive just watched it too... I won't be buying from them to xx
I used to get a lot of stuff, but I phoned them tonight and gave them a mouthful. Lets hope other people do the same
I did not see the show but unfortunetly, here in the US we have companies that do stuff like that all the time. For example; I was shopping at Walmart and noticed some packed frozen fish. When I read the lable I saw that it came from China. I live in Texas, near the Gulf of Mexico where we have fishermen just trying to make a living but Walmart has to go all the way to China to get their fish. I was so mad that I even complained to the manager. (As if I could change the mind of a muliti billion company..lol) I'm sure the labor is cheaper in China and they probably don't have to pay taxes.
I used to work for the shipping company called Maersk. I heard that the US imports somthing like 10 times the amount of manufactured goods than we export. We have become a contry of consumers. They only thing we can still export in large amounts is corn and grains. What a crazy world.
Hi mark I agree with you. This was to do the way they treated staff in the UK. They had only 33 seconds to process an order. An undercover reporter went in. Of course they denied it all. Also they pay taxes to Luxembourg not the UK because it is cheaper. I think they have got too big. We need to give smaller shops a chance. Was it you who told me about the book?
What channel was this on please, I'd like to get it on catch up if I can. I have spent £1,000's with amazon!!
BBC 1 panorama. It was how they treated their employees. Repeated Thursday 1220am 0020hrs BBC2. Hope this is of some use.
I have recorded the programme and have yet too watch it! I've just recently bought some goods from Amazon, but if I don't buy again from there then where can I get my Dvd's. From? As our HMV has just closed down and I live on th Isle of Wight!
Not a great choice now is it with Blockbuster gone as well, I'm struggling to think of a single high street presence - even the supermarkets are pretty poor, only Tesco or Sainsburys of them. But there are loads of other on-line retailers, megashopbot is quite good for tracking down better prices.
I feel the same guys!! I have bought loads from Amazon over the years and I think what they're doing is terrible, but where do I get my books and DVD's from at such good prices?? XX
It's time to get back to supporting small local businesses on our high street
I agree. I will be going to waterstones and HMV in future
Books and DVDs I buy from play.com if that's of any use?
Saw the report on the BBC News but not the Panorama programme so will watch that on I player or something. Yes, I was rather horrified but sadly not surprised. In the present economic climate conditions are not great for some workers out there and thanks to Mrs T ( sorry , am going to get political here ) unions don't have much clout nowadays.
