Hi,

low vitamin D levels are actually more common than we think so it's not always a part of Fibromyalgia. Low vitamin D levels are linked to higher pain levels, depression and mental function though which are all part of Fibromyalgia.

You will probably be prescribed VitD3 Tablets or injections to get your levels up. To be honest I didn't find my pain decreased when they got my levels higher but my dentist said my levels had been got high enough in her opinion. They withdrew the tablets when my levels reached 51. Other people have, however, found it did help.

I was only prescribed a multi vitamin to bring Vit d levels up & was very skeptical, however it did work and bring levels back to normal, which has reduced some of my hip & pelvis pain & stiffness, however the rest of the Fibro symptoms remain x

Hi, yes. Low Vitamin D levels are associated with Fibro as well as conditions like MS. I was prescribed Vit D3 but found they made me constipated so I buy some from the health shop then forget to take them! The sun is the best source of Vit D but not possible at this time of year! Our practice has stopped giving Vit D tests, they just prescribe instead but seeing as I didn't get on with them I've no idea what my levels are like now.
