I think they were intending to replace DLA and/or DA with PIP from tomorrow. But the Dept of Work and Pensions is in such chaos they're not ready so it will only be in 3 areas. Not sure which they are. What an awful worry off everyone affected. :(

Yes.good news fro some ??(temporarily?)It is being carried out in the south of England wales and cant remember the third area.still an unnecessary stress on all affected.

I wish they would leave the DLA alone. We are being made to feel like we are scroungers, which we are not. I still don't see how one person can assess what life is like for us from one meeting.

Hi I think new claimants will be assessed under the PIP rule, but those already on DLA will not be changed over to PIP just yet. anyway as far as I'm concerned the outcome will be the same, you can breath so you don't need it bye bye.

The third area it's going to hit, is going to be us in the Midlands. I'm hoping I can get a DLA form to reapply for it before it gets to the tougher PIP. Hubby says not to worry as he knows how I panic, but it's hard not to! I've just won one battle - my appeal - & now it looks like I've got to fight another one!!!

I live in the Midlands yet I renewed my DLA this yr and I got it for the next 3 years, by which time I shall be retirement age. Will it be renewed again or will I have to claim PIP then??

it is so unfair especially when people fraudently claim DLA.its these they want to catch not us genuine ones.

Hi billy,

I've not seen anything on the news about PIP, but I have filled in the claim form and posted it registered mail, as I saw some months ago, that people were being told their form was not received.

I just want to say that the PIP form is much more straight forward than the DLA form, and doesn't repeat questions. If a medical is required, they will also come out to your house.

I'm still waiting to hear and will ring them this week if I've not heard.

Will keep you informed.
