Fibromyalgia and T3
This is usually a thyroid treatment and rarely used for Fibro but it should only be prescribed by a doctor.

Hello I was prescribed T3 or my Hypothyroidism...as I can't tolerate Levothyroxine or armour thyroid..I also have Lupus SLE ,Fibro,Sjogrens syndrome and Hughes syndrome ( and more!) ..I became quite poorly and my TSH rose to over 60 .all my symptoms were bad .On a routine visit to my Rheumatologist ( a professor at a top london hospital who origanally diagnosed me with Fibro ) he advised me that as soon as I was adequately medicated with my T3 treatment ,For my thyroid problems ,l would notice an improvement in my Fibro pain.this has been the case..my brain fog seemed to lift like a light bulb being switched on in my brain...I'm still poorly with all the other stuff and i am waiting for an appointment for a clinic as l possibly have Behcets diesease now..these autoimmune illness's cross over with symptoms you may not find a complete cure but my Fibro has defiantly improved with the thyroid treatment of T3...
I read the heavy going Paul Robinson book on recovering with T3 ...which helped with my circadian dosing ,temp ,Bp taking...
And Dr Barry Durrant Peatfields book on the thyroid ,"your thyroid and how to look after it.".....was very helpful before I was diagnosed...he doesn't use blood tests to diagnose thyroid issues just listening to you ,temp ,Bp ,and other tests..I saw him as patient and he was brilliant and so understanding..he was the beginning of my journey to better health..as I say no cure but better quality of life! I was diagnosed by a friend who is a herbalist ,who told me to go to my GP as she said l had a bad goitre and my blood pressure was sooo low.as well as my body temperature..my GP repeated blood tests and all was revealed..after asking for copies of past blood tests which had been.'normal' I found I had been border line and well over the ref ranges for years! It was only when my thyroid collapsed did it flag up in the tests..showing that we are all different what is ok for you might not be for me! A referance range should not be totally the only diagnostic tool...so many people are very poorly on the borderline...and lots are well ...
I wish you better health soon .betwishes Donna x
Thankyou ging , I hope your daughter finds it useful,Fibro takes on many forms and everyone suffers differently..common denominator PAIN!! If only one person is helped its worth mentioning it...so many take the word of the GP when he/ she says blood tests are Normal....we all should ask for copies of our tests..along with reference ranges .Thyroiduk have a HU forum where she would find helpful information and people like on this forum who can advise...
Bestwishes to you both and answers soon x
