Hi,

I went to one and after assessment was put on the foundation course for pain management. From there I was given a place on a 12 week course for pain management for people with Fibromyalgia. Personally I found it well worth going. Some aspects of it were not too useful but others were good and just knowing they believed FMS was real and believed I was in pain was worth it.

Hi. I wrote a big bit about pain clinics some time ago, and explaind that I went to the Walton Clinic in Liverpool, where having had a referral from your doctor, if they decide you are the sort of person that will respond to their treatment [you have to be really positive and willing to coperate ] they set you up in bed and breakfast near the hospital which you attend for 4/6 weeks daily, and by thinking positively, doing swimming, tia-chi, physiotherapy, behaviour therapy and many other things, they can get you thinking in a different way, without the use of so many tablets, there motto is; IT IS ONLY PAIN AND IT WON`T KILL YOU. how true that is, it gives a completely different way to how you manage things. I went there in the 90`s, and it was brilliant, and to this day, I try and follow what I learnt there.. I have not heard of another clinic like this, When I wrote the bit about this a while ago, I phoned them to find out for other people on the site who were interested, if this clinic was still going, and it is, so, if I can be of any other help to you, please let me know.. Sorry if I have made too many mistakes with writing this, but I have just had a knuckle replacement, and I am trying to type with one hand. All the best, and hope you get the help you need.

Lyndia x

I attend one at Oxford & they make you do as much or as little as you can. They haven't put me on the full course as I wouldn't be able to do it so instead I do therapies aimed at my ability

I have been under the pain clinic for quite a while. They have sorted out my medications and have put me on the list for the pain management course.

I have to say my experience has been positive.
