Got pain clinic tomorrow, I'm hoping they will put me on something that will help the fibro a little bit.
I am nervous as I've been to pain clinic before, but different hospital. And they were horrible. They basically told me to just get on with it!

Hello, sorry to read about your bad experience before, I hope this team are helpful and let us know how you get on as I’ve never been to a pain clinic before,xx
Hi sweetie,
So very sorry that they have treated you like this. I've just finished a new programme at Sunderland hospital pain clinic which includes counselling as well they can't give you medication but should give you strategies to help you in your daily living. I hope you get better help this time. To be honest you do need to be a bit assertive with them and don't let them push you aside. Good luck sweetie. Xxx
Good luck, I’m still waiting for a pain clinic appointment 😂 I’m nervous.
Hi Honeydebra, sorry to hear of your bad experience. I was referred to the local pain clinic and they wrote to my doctor telling her to take me off all pain medication immediately, which she did.
I was panicking and in the end she agreed to prescribe targeted pain relief, only for when the pain was unbearable. I get 60 Tramadol per month, which is nothing 😒
Oh no sorry to hear that. Ask for a second opinion xx
There's a pain clinic in Sheffield which I'm told is excellent and they have an anesthetist. It's a teaching hospital so they are on the cutting edge of pain relief. I recommend it to anyone in this area 💕
Hi I went to pain clinic 6 weeks ago they said for me to try some new painkillers 6 weeks on and I’m still waiting for them to send letter to gp
Thats bad. Sorry your having to wait xx
I've got mine in July I'm worried they don't believe how much pain I'm in. Fingers crossed all goes well for you xx
Unfortunately due to new Nice (governing body)guidelines GPS are being discouraged from prescribing strong opiate pain relief such as morphine and above. 😪
It's because it's been proven that they seldom are effective for fibromyalgia pain . I presume because although we feel that the pain is excruciating its our brains telling us there is pain but it's not caused by something like a broken bone. I'm prescribed oxycodone which is stronger than morphine but my gp wants me to stop it. I do get some relief but is it because of the tablets or is it that I have withdrawal when it isn't in my system
I'm also on oxocodone both liquid and tablets. It does help my head a bit and its the only thing that does.
