Hi All
Does anyone have experience of attending a pain clinic? I'm thinking of asking my GP to refer me as my pain meds aren't helping much for the last few months.
Thanks in advance

ive been to pain clinic few years ago, they taught me about pain receptors in the brain gave some light stretching excercises to do each week like physio therapy and a goal diary....cant say its changed anything really just gave me a bit more knowledge, the exercises they gave me I do in yoga class anyway and the goal diary was more of a mind focus training that's what I got from it anyway....good luck
Thanks chaps. I'll see what the GP says x
I went to one. Maybe my bad luck but I got a supercilious disinterested patronising old man who made me feel really bad about myself so I never went back. But you could have a different experience so.....to be honest I have always found with all my various illnesses and conditions that my best solutions came either from my own logic or instincts..or from the advice and suggestions of other sufferers. Good luck anyway.
I had a locum nurse at the pain clinic. It seemed helpful but then it went downhill 😑
Hope it helps with yours.
oh no Did you have a follow up appointment? x
I called a nurse but she couldn't prescribe medications. I had to Google for another drug. Then she had to ask my GP. There was nothing else. Apparently people are meant to have a schedule such as physio, hydro, CBT etc. I never had a letter 🙄
Oh no! That's terrible I can't bare being patronised. xx
Hi. Like I said you may get someone nicer....but for me it was a wasted journey and a huge knock to my self esteem. Because I wasn't writhing in agony in the few minutes he saw me I just knew he didn't even believe me. It was a horrible day. I prefer the support and dignity I get from all the caring and sympathizing folk on this forum..like yourself. Goodnight. Hugs all round!☺
