I find it upsetting too, having to face-up to how awful life is.Well done for getting it finished.

don't forget to make a copy and, if you can, send it recorded delivery.

good luck!

I copy everything !! I couldn't imagine having to re write it ! and its usefull to refer back to when they give a stupid reason to say no !

The first time I did one , it made me feel really low and the first time I was forced to admit how ill I was but this time it didn't affect me in this way at all , even though I am worse now than I was before ! x

If it's done properly, it does take hours and hours, and I cannot do it all in 1 go!

It is really important to get it right though, the difference to keeping your head above water. I would always say take your time, go back over it time and again. Some years ago I helped someone who had used local CAB and was rejected. She appealed, we spent a whole weekend on it, she won!

I spent hours and hours on mine and ended up writing an essay for each question. When I first applied they turned me down so I went to DIAL,they helped me to fill out the form writing most of it for me and I was told that most of what I had written was unnessecary. What they wrote was precise and to the point and anwsered in a few sentences. So I had wasted hours and caused myself much pain which was not needed.I got awarded the low rate to begin with.As my fm worsened and I applied for help from social services, they told me that I should re-apply for the higher rate so they arranged for someone to come to my home from CAB to do the form for me.I was awarded the high rate for care and mobility which I've had for a few years now x

I wrote loads ! I think I will ask CAB next time though to save me writing loads ! The thing is , I didn't want to leave out anything ! x

It took my partner and me about 6months! That was with the help of the CAB also.... It is heart-wrenching to put yourself face-to-face with everything. Good luck with your claim!

I spent two days filling it in,mainly because writing hurts. Then my carer came and we finished it off which took another three hours. Not too bed but since I put it in the post I haven't had a full nights sleep as so worried about it after all the problems I had last time.
