Hi there

Sorry to are in pain , of course stress doesn't help us fibromites ... Thank goodness your council are taking action and have been out and are prepared to take legal action if they don't be a bit quieter

Fingers crossed for some quieter time for you

What a bloomin' nuisance. It's a good job the council are sympathetic - I used to have some very nice neighbours who lived in the flat above me, but they cooked a great deal, and they had the noisiest chopping board in the world.

All I could hear for hours on end was chop-chop-chop, scrape-scrape, bang, and then they would start moving furniture and scraping chairs! :O

They were, as I said, very nice people, and they weren't breaking any rules, but I could have wrapped that wooden board around their heads :X

Good luck with this - hope the council back you up properly.

I've had problems with neighbours - more in the last 18 months . Frequently being woken an hour or so after I went to sleep - about 11 or midnight and I need my sleep .I kept a noise diary and sent it to local council . Also spoke to neighbours to try to explain that they were causing nuisance - as well as could they please remember that other people live only a few feet away - and keep their telly/music/shouting/partying to a sensible level.... next set of noise diaries resulted in them getting strong warning letter from council - but so obviously instigated by me as we are the only houses joined. Resulting in the guy banging hard on my door the same evening, ranting and raving and threatening all sorts ... Not very nice and so I was more stressed - annoyed also then with council for not preparing me- as a single woman - for their action.

All has quietened down generally now - but wish council had considered their action and how my neighbours may react .

In the meantime, have you tried earplugs ? Could be helpful :-)

As if you haven't got enough to contend with, you really need to sleep. I'm sure your energy levels are dropping, but the best you can do I think is keep the pressure on the council. Sometimes not the volume, do they have that base going? it reverberates all around, hellish.

Take care x

i live in a house and neighbours on both sides are very social and vocal the party in one house starts around midnight and goes on until 5-6am then they spend the day in the garden partying with freinds im bloody exhausted, the people on the others side start around 11pm till usualy 4am and then all next day play the radio full pelt all day till its time to party again this goes on usualy on a nightly basis, and then they like to barbeque and light fires outside and inside their home they cook garlic in their food every night so when i go off to have a nice scented bath with candles and a book i am absolutley sickend by the stink of food and garlic and then when the garden acctivites are over its indoors to the nice cosy fire burning old peices of wood by now im gaging with smoke and my house reeks. ive been very patient and asked nicely could they tone down the music and i got short shrift for that then play the music louder and for longer. im demented with the stress our houses are owned by us and not council. am i just being a tad oversensitive. last time it was so bad i called the fire brigade and the police for the noise arghhhh im at my wits end..
