The main person that brightens the darkest days

This little angel is our 3 year old grandson Orion. His smile melts my heart. He helps to chase away the terrible days. He does the cutest things without being prompted, he has to go upstairs before me, he goes backwards all the time holding my hands to make sure I am ok.

He is a little angel. Extremely affectionate and polite. He is half Filipino as his mum is from Manila. He really does light up the dark days. He is poorly at present with a cold and tummy bug so has been sat on my lap all afternoon. I am proud as punch of him. Thank you for all your lovely comments ladies

I have one of those too. Nothing compares to a three year old chap, who is hell bent on making you laugh. I know exactly the joy you talk of , that they bring to us. I hope you feel better soon. And the little man too x

Here here! I dread to think what life would be like without my 3 year old son Adam. He makes us crack up all the time, without realising he is being funny. I sort of don't really want him to get any older... 3 is a lovely age x

I have twin boys, Daniel and Samuel grandsons, one is quiet the other noisy, they are seven now. I also have two granddaughters who are 16 and 13 Ruth and Rebekah. All to one daughter and son in law. They live 150 miles away but they ring me regularly and tell me what they have been up to at school. On special occasions, Christmas birthdays and so on, we have skype and what fun that is. I may not see them very often but the joy of hearing a little voice saying "hello Grandma, love you." is beyond compare. They know I am not well and when I visit them they look after me, from helping me up to lending me their favorite blanket. What does pain matter when there is love like theirs.

My dad always used to say, "you can't describe what it is like to be a grandparent" he always followed it up with "bloody magic that's what it is". He was besotted with Orion, something which made his passing away a little easier was that he got to spend a short time with him, Orion was 16 months old when he died. I have a lovely picture of them both together, which I am going to get printed and framed for them to put away
