Another member has been to this - I can't remember their name - perhaps I should come too!
I'm sure someone will be able to tell you about their experiences. I hope you get on OK, and that it turns out to be nothing more sinister than 'fog'

hi ladymoth it was me that has been referred to memory clinic.
Kira, have you already had the blood tests done and sent off for dementia screening ?
I have no idea how long the appointment will take to come through. I suppose it is different depending on where you live. I live in Stockport which is close to manchester
hi, im to go see a psychologist in june with regards to my memory I have already seen the memory psychiatrist and had a ct scan done he said that my brain is smaller than it should be and asked me loads of question including spelling words backwards and counting backwards from 100 I became quite distressed and developed a really bad headache with trying to remember things he has refferd me onto the psychologist were I am to have shorter appointments I don't know what will happen when I see her but will update on here my experience I hope all goes well for you xx
Hello mubchkin62 It sounds like your visit to the memory clinic was quite distressing for you . Jeez i can't even spell words the proper way for some reason i have become dislexic with words, i also forget names , not just people names, but the names of objects so my visit will be interesting.
Thanks for your reply
hugs

Hi there Serendipity may I ask what the reason was for sending you there in the first place, is it because your forgetful or something similar, only I thought it was our fog brain or medication that causes those things, sorry if u have written on here before but I only joined the site late on Sunday, for whatever reason they are sending u there I do hope things turn out ok and in your favour, gentle hugs Dee x
I thought that i had 'fog brain' too but now she is grabbing at the thin air i think , i forget the names of object , even the name of my cat , but i have always thought this was due to my medication and Fibro

Have you had your thyroid checked as memory problems can be a symptom of Hypothyroidism?
Karen
'Like' this suggestion; years ago I was having terrible trouble with memory and concentration, also tiredness, to the point where my job was at risk. Turned out to be underactive Thyroid, usually (and in my case) easilt treated. Simple blood test, ask GP for one. Hospital sweep may not have looked for it.
i think that was checked in my bloods when i was in hospital just a month ago
