There seem to be quite a few.

The link appears to be that thyroid problems may increase the chance of getting fibro, not that the fibro is caused by the thyroid problems.

It does seem, tho' I have no figures to back this statement, that having almost any chronic illness increases the likelihood of having fibro or CFS as well.

Hi all thanks just that a docter told me once that if you have fibro you should instantly be checked for thyroid problems and wondered if some of the peoples pain could be thyroid related. Same here kathyknowles just been to have x-ray on my knee thats where they sending me to physio bit worried as i have terrible trouble with my feet and dont want them to make it worse when i go going to ask them if they have any experience with fibro xx

I too have an under active thyroid had it for years, the medication went up to 175 then it started to drop. It has gone to 150, to 125, am am waiting for the latest round of blood test to see if it is still going down. At least one thing is improving my knees have become so painful I can hardly walk, My hands and arms are making holding or lifting things almost impossible. I am a danger to myself cooking or even making a cup of tea. I get fed up with changing the dose of painkillers and just getting "Oh well that's fibro" from my docter's. My husband is ill with heart problems and growths on his liver that may or may not be cancer, but they cannot do anything till they fix his heart!!! So I guess stress is my main problem and you all know what stress does!!!!! I am new to this site I have found out a lot of information from you all, many thanks.

Nope, no thyroid problems here. Perfectly healthy other than the fibro!
