Preparing for another embryo transfer after having success, any tips?

We had our beautiful little boy in October (he was our 6th transfer) and feel incredibly lucky. We have 6 PGT-A tested embryos in the freezer and are wanting to try again for a sibling after Christmas. It took us so long to have our little boy that I didn't even think we'd be in this position just over a year ago!

Any tips from anyone who had success and then went on to try for a sibling? I'm currently breastfeeding and haven't had a period since giving birth (which I'm told isn't unusual when breastfeeding), but is there anything I need to be aware of - such as when is best to stop breastfeeding before another embryo transfer? My son was also born via c-section and I didn't know if scarring could have an impact on the outcome? Or if there's anything else I need to think about re IVF after already given birth once?

Any advice welcome! X

Hi! Have a look at the Facebook group ‘breastfeeding mums undergoing fertility treatment’. You may not need to stop depending on medications in your protocol.

Hi. After a c-section, our bodies need at least one year to recover; by that I mean the abdominal muscles to heal. I am not too sure about the breastfeeding advice.

Other things to consider for FET are the same, ideal BMI, no smoking, good diet and the essential multivitamins.

Good luck 🤞

Hi there, I am prego of my fourth child, 2 of which + the current one are IVF and C section babies. I plan on doing a C section again this time. Baby 2 and 3 are 23 months apart so got prenant quite quickly after baby 2, and baby 3 and 4 will be 2.5y apart. They say the minimum between two C sections is 12 months. There is nothing special to plan for, just take it easy and enjoy the process ! Just a transfer is very cool :-) PS: I know nothing about breastfeeding and I don't take any vitamins or folic acid as they make me feel more nauseous than I already am. However a very healthy diet is recommended (fish, veggies, fruits, lors of water etc... Have fun and wishing u the best! Xx
