Hi all,I had my last round of ivf in Oct and since then I've had 2 30 day cycles, which isn't normally for me. I've had one 26 day cycle which has been about right. I'm still ovulating around day 14, so is that normal too in a longer cycle?
I'm waiting to go ahead with a natural FET cycle but now I'm not sure and wonder if a medicated one would be better?
Hope you can help! X

Hello! I had ivf end October & early November (duo stim so 2 egg collections).
My first cycle post IVF was 30 days and the second was 19 so it’s been a bit wild! I spoke with my clinic and it’s completely normal, they weren’t a bit concerned and said it can take a few months for things to get back to how they were.
Unlike you I’ve not ovulated naturally since before IVF that I’m aware of, but I’m having a medicated fresh transfer in March (we are now using DE) so the clinic have calmed my concerns there too!
Have a chat with your clinic and see what they say. Your cycles are totally normal considering all the hormones you’ve had, it’s just how the next steps are decided and I’m sure they’ll have a plan in place.
yes - my cycles have been in disarray since ivf - which makes calculating when I can have next rounds really difficult
First menstrual cycle is usually 33-36 days after withdrawal bleed… then they sort of settle a bit after in subsequent cycles but more unpredictable than they were before ivf - and typically shorter too (25-26 days rather than 26-28 like I was having before). Also seemed to ovulate early on day 11 this month (last anything was a FET early Dec).
Does add to the nightmare but I’ve been advised it’s nothing to be alarmed by. So I echo the post above!
Mine are also usually thrown in the cycles following stim.
If you’re still ovulating that’s a good sign and you can see how your lining builds in a natural FET. If you’re ovulating later, it may actually be beneficial to let lining have time to develop. Do your clinic scan you in a natural FET? I had to demand it from a previous clinic given my history of thin lining. May give your reassurance. xx
Hi. It can take up to three cycles to return back to what is normal to you. You may even have to be given medication to help. While you are waiting, could you get your Fallopian tubes check ed for blockages. Apologies if already done. It’s just that leakage from blockages can sometimes prevent a developing embryo from implanting. Good luck and hope you can continue soon. Diane
Thank you. I have had a consultation at another clinic and they suggested a hyCosY before proceeding with further ivf. Would a blocked tube stop a transfer from being successful? Current clinic have never suggested it as I've conceived naturally before.
Hi. Excess lubrication from a damaged tube that leaks into the womb, could prevent a developing embryo from implanting. Clipping or removal . Usually recommended. Diane
