Cyclogest on IVF

hi

Did anyone take 3 400mg cyclogest pessaries a day on IVF? I’m not sure whether to take two in the morning and one at the night. Or if it’s the other way round.

Thanks :)

Hey, I started off with two per day, once in the morning and the other just before bed. Following a blood test the nurses upped my dose to 3 times per day, and suggested taking one approx. in between the other two. I.e., on or around 07:30, 15:30 and 22:30.

Hi there,

I just wanted to confirm that I received the same advise as Blue Elvis.

My clinic said space out the cyclogest evenly over the day.

If you having two cyclogest pessaries a day, you could have at 8am and 8pm - for example.

If you are having three cyclogest pessaries, you want to space them about 8 hours a part (more or less) - for example, at 7am, 3pm, 11pm - you may want to bring the latter one forward a bit to increase sleep - up to you. Just space them evenly across your awake 'window'.

Best of luck.

I was on 3 a day and spaced them out through the day - 8am, 2pm, 10pm. I would suggest taking them rectally, seems a bit icky at first but it’s a lot less messy than taking them vaginally. Best of luck with your cycle

I would second this if it did it again, I had spotting with both pregnancies that they said could have been caused by it irritating my cervix, just another bit of extra drama and anxiety don’t need

Last pregnancy that I had, I started putting them rectally a couple of weeks after my positive and had an early miscarriage two days later I started doing that. I always wondered.

Yes I did, you need to spread it throughout the day, one in the morning, one at lunch and one at dinner.

Hello! Yes I take 3 day, 1 in the morning and 2 at night. It’s worth checking with your clinic just to be sure but I don’t believe it matters. You just have to take the same amount at the same time everyday. I do 2 in the evening as it’s more comfortable for me.

Sending lots of luck xx

I was told to space all 3 throughout the day. Wear a pantyliner btw otherwise your underwear gets messy. X

I did one in morning, one early afternoon and and one before bed. They made me feel horrendous. So fatigued and despressed. I pleaded to come off and they agreed and I never needed them in a previous treatment which resulted in a healthy pregnancy.

I did. Morning, mid day and evening x

Yes. I did. I was also on 2x lubion a day as well. I was taking all of this on transfer day so 3 x 400mg cyclogest, 2 x lubion and one inhixa.

So I took cyclogest 400mg at these times: 8am, 2pm and 8pm rectally. It absorbs better rectally.

Hi Lou1616 I was on 3 400mg cyclogest pessaries in my latest cycle. I spaced them out through the day, one in the morning vaginally, second the same but around lunch and then the 3rd the consultant said had to be rectally inserted before bed (sorry to be graphic) hope this helps. Good luck! 💛

Yes. My clinic advised that they have to be taken 8 hours apart (I do 5.30am, 13.30pm & 21.30pm). Best to double check with your clinic what they suggest.
