Vaginal cyclogest on fet day

hi I’ve got my 2nd fet this week and just wondering if people that normally take cyclogest vaginally still took it this way on the day of transfer? I was told I had to take mine vaginally rather than rectally due to my poor absorption from the first transfer. But how does this work on the day of transfer as the cyclogest are very messy and waxy and i wouldn’t want this to affect the transfer but the clinic haven’t really said much about it. Thanks

Hi Victoria,I have had the exact same anxiety in the past, in my experience the doctors told me to take medication as usual day of, then at transfer time they clean/rinse out the residue before putting in the embryo. I remember feeling really awkward the first time, but the vibe was like it was standard procedure so I wasn't quite as uncomfortable the second time round. Of course the best thing to do is ask your clinic/doctor to make sure and so your comfortable, Its a super valid question to ask just incase they operate differently. Wishing you the best of luck 🤞❤️✨

Thank you! I know I did message them to ask but they said just take it an hour earlier so I wasn’t sure they knew what I was getting at. Will just carry on as normal you’re right it’s fine they clean beforehand anyway

My clinic instructed me to keep taking the progesterone vaginally - I took it at 10am and the transfer was at 11, the procedure was all smooth as though there was nothing there, so I guess the pessaries don't interfere with it? All they need to see physically in your vaginal canal is your cervix and evrrything else is done under the US guidance. Don't worry and good luck!!

Thank you it’s probably just me worrying over nothing

My clinic always are very clear that I should continue meds as normal even on transfer day. Nothing is ever mentioned at transfer or any cleaning going on.

yeah clinic say take as normal whether you are on progesterone or not they always did a wee ‘wash/wipe’ inside of your cervix first to help them see (which you wouldn’t know about unless they tell you) and it doesn’t affect the transfer at all. Good luck xx🤗💜

Hi Victoria,

My clinic told me to put Cyclogest in my back door on the day of the transfer, they still gave a clean to cervix as well.
