Anyone experience IVF with a cyst? 5/6cm cyst on last scan will it be cancelled?

I have a follicular cyst (a regular one) that was spotted after a follow up scan for an early miscarriage. I was seen at the EPU not the fertility clinic.

I was hoping to have a fresh cycle in the new year but now I’m a bit worried that we won’t be able to go ahead if I still have this cyst. I’m hoping it’ll go away on its own but I’ve read that bigger ones sometimes don’t. But it doesn’t look like the nhs would routinely treat a cyst they just leave them from what I’ve read? So am I just stuck with this if it doesn’t go away?

Would my clinic want to cyst gone before I could start a cycle? Anyone experienced this? Had been feeling more positive and this feels like an unexpected spanner in the works. Hoping it might still go away on its own when I have a follow up in a few weeks but feeling anxious. Any stories? Thanks all

I had a cyst (using fresh eggs so not a full er cycle), and it was canned. I went back in about another two weeks and it had gone, so we restarted the process

Thank you, really hoping mine goes away on its own too. Always seems to be a curveball in this process 😞

I had an FET cancelled due to a cyst (producing hormones) but it went away with my period and we transferred the next cycle xx

Thanks glad you didn’t have to wait too long. Sounds like I’ll just have to wait and see and hope 🤞xx

Do you know if your cyst is producing hormones? They can do a blood test to check - if it's not then they might opt to leave it.... I think they only really want it gone because the extra hormones can interrupt their medication plan.

I’ve been told it’s a functional cyst and looks normal apart from being on the bigger side. I know some people have much bigger ones but they said 5+ cm are less likely to go away in their own. They haven’t mentioned anything about hormones but that makes sense. We don’t have any frozen left so it will be a fresh cycle. I’ll ask about the blood test, didn’t know this was a thing xx
