First egg retrieval PGD IVF

Hi ..

We have undergone our first egg retrieval in the first round of our PGD ivf journey.

They managed to retrieve 5 eggs.... at 26 years old this doesnt seem to be many.

I am feeling a little helpless and deflated.

I am now worried that we wont get a viable embryo that isn't perfect by the defaulting gene.

Has anyone else gone through this?

I dont even know how many follicles or eggs are a good quantity.

Thanks in advance

Hey hunny, you only need to worry about the quality it doesnt matter how many they get. I see people say all the time theyve got like 20 eggs then end up with 4 good ones or less. You are 26 so you should have some good eggs in there, fingers crossed for you x

Hi.

Thank you for your response. We have 3 embryos out of the 5 eggs... just hoping the all develop to day five then its on to the testing process.

Just take each step as it comes. The egg numbers game pickled my head as I had read 8-12 average numbers .

I got 5.

Some people get loads and they aren’t mature etc etc etc . Just listen to your own statistics because that’s what is true for you 😘 every person is unique that’s why they say ‘average’ etc , age , levels etc all impact outcome so just see your results as ‘ah, that’s what MY body does’.

Hopefully this settles your head a bit.

It is what it is 🤷🏼‍♀️😘😘😘👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻💐💐💐💐💐💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

This journey is so intense 🧘🏼‍♀️

Hugs and understanding

Rhinocat x 😘💐

It's such an intense and emotional process all of the hormones dont help..

If we get any viable embryos for testing we have another 2 month wait after that for the results on whether they have my condition.

A few friends of mine were in the same shoes, and IVF PGS NGS worked for them. A good sign for you, stay positive! I keep my fingers crossed x

Yes I had it at 40 and 41 yo, it is worth it. In both cases they didnt implant but not for chromosomal issues.
