Hi since starting my IVF injections I've found I've been suffering from really bad back ache? Has anyone else had this and is it a rather common side effect of the ivf medications?

do you have endo? I found stims have given me a pressure/ache in lower back and I assumed it was related to my endo. It wasn’t like my usual endo symptoms though. It got worse so by my 3rd stim I was really really uncomfortable and couldn’t work as long / sit. Since my excision surgery, the first stims post that wasn’t as bad at all.

Yes I do indeed have endometriosis this is only my first stimulation though I have a large endometrioma on my right ovary. Sounds similar to me feels like a kinda pressure in my lower back too kinda like someone has their fist pushing into my lower back. I've been put on surgical waiting list to have the endometrioma removed from my ovary as I'm at risk of it twisting.

Exactly how I’d describe it too! I found heat packs lower back helpful and doing some gentle yoga poses to relax pelvic floor x

Hi Flower1994, I had some backache and found when I had lots of water it helped. I don't know if with being a bit dehydrated and the hormones it affected my bowels or what, but worth a try as it might be a fix! x

Hi. Could even be a sign of infection, so drink plenty of water to keep your urine nice and pale colour and lots of it. Paracetamol for pain, no anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Good luck. Diane

I had a very bad back ache, to the point I could not really move. This started 5 to 6 days to the first injection. After a few days I got stuck, and I was not able to move. I hope this is not your case. I do not knon but my gut told me this was related to medicine despite the clinic did not hold any responsibility with this because they never saw someone so poorly in pain. My dose were increased at some point, this is why I think my backache may be related. Also it got worse with the trigger shot. I am not a doctor so I can't really say why this happened, I just know my body and probably my body did not need an increased dosage. I hope you get well soon amd yes, drink lot of fluids, this may help.
