Just to say that, so far as I know, HCG should double every 2-3 days in early pregnancy and it looks like yours are roughly tracking that.
Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to change outcome at this stage if something is going to go wrong.
I would consider the benefits to your overall wellbeing of testing ahead of your scan, unless there's a clinical reason too, as it can just add to stress. That said, after 10 losses here, I know the desperation to 'know' what's going on as soon as possible. However, sometimes it just isn't possible to know.
Thanks so much for your advice and I'm so sorry to hear of your losses, that's just heartbreaking 💔You're so right there's nothing that can be done to change the outcome at this stage.
I'm desperate though for constant reassurance. Everything was going fine until the HCG result yesterday, it has really knocked me.
I guess I will just have to wait for the scan next week.
As HCG can take 3 days to double, your result yesterday could just be due to that -it took 3 days rather than 2 to double and is in the process of doubling again.
If it's helpful, with my first loss my HCG was 33Umol, then 38Umol 2 days later and then 220Umol 2 weeks later. (that's just the easiest one to find as, coincidentally, the numbers are on the back of a recipe I use a lot!)
Bodies, sadly, don't work to exact mathematical patterns, so I wouldn't get too hung up on exact doubling every 2 days, it just doesn't work that exactly. So, it is the trend that should be being looked at. So long as it is going up a reasonable amount and isn't stopping or lessening, it shouldn't be a huge concern.
If it's not reassuring you to get the tests, I'd suggest waiting, hard though it is. You can, of course, be scanned earlier if you have any worrying symptoms like pain or heavy bleeding (cramping and spotting are normal). But each scan is really just a snapshot in time. Hard though it is, try to trust that your body does know what it's doing here, even if it feels totally alien to you!xx
