Hi! PCOS here too and like you, I took myoinositol. I only took it in the mornings though first thing before breakfast. It definitely help regulate my cycles. I also cut out all sugar to address the sugar resistance that comes with PCOS. Very best of luck!
I’m not sure all myo insitol are on an empty stomach. I’m sure I took several with food? I’ve had powder one from zita west you took with juice and I’m sure I had another you took in water. I don’t think it matters greatly tbh if you eat after or not for hours.
Are you taking to giant tablet one? I found the powder form like from zita west vile but easier to swallow/ remember as once a day.
It did work well for me at regulating my cycles so worth finding one that suits. I’m not sure it did anything for weight loss (I also found metformin awful and had to stop taking it so this might just be a me thing).
However, it’s really worth asking your clinic about thyroid testing. Pcos and mild thyroid issues are super common and I found taking thyroxine helped me lose weight. Suboptimal thyroid levels also can impact implantation.
I'm taking the powder form from infolic alpha - the recommended dosage is 1 morning 1 evening/night and from what I've read you should take it on an empty stomach - the one I've been taking for sure helps with the weight loss and it doesn't taste of anything at all. Definitely recommend it. Just wanted to be sure I'm not messing up the dosage which might be causing issues with it working better.
Yeah my GP has already tested me for possible thyroid issues multiple times and it was all normal so guess just gotta continue with the supplement and exercising etc
There are a few kinds of myo inositol you can get I think. The infolic one is the first one I took! (Sachets in a pink box?). The powders generally taste of nothing but i didn’t like drinking the experience of drinking powdery water I think. I did end up taking myo insitol in various forms for about 7 years so tried a few different ones ( I do not recommend changing to the tablets lol). Some medications like thyroxine you can’t take with food and you have to leave an hour either side of taking it. You could try following those sort of recommendations if you are worried?
My thyroid at the gp was 2.8 and then 3 which they said was fine (clinical levels are over 5) but our clinic told me that they don’t transfer embryos if your thyroid is over 2.5.
Oh that's interesting. I've still got a little bit to go before I am the right weight to get on the waiting list but might look into getting thyroid levels tested again!
Hi, I used to take morning and night, with breakfast and dinner. I was also once prescribed by a gynac the same way. For my myoinositol didn't do much with weight management but I feel it kept my insulin resistant in check. Hope this helps.
Thank you. How long did you leave it before you ate something after taking it? Or if you had it before dinner did you leave some time between a meal and taking it?
