I was hoping I could get some suggestions or advice. The last week or so I’ve been feeling really nauseous and since my bfp I’ve had a suppressed appetite. I don’t want to nor feel like I can eat anything. Even water just the thought having to drink it makes me nauseous. Any remedies that can help, would be really appreciated xx

Hi Snang sorry you’re feeling poorly and lost your appetite. Try to eat small meals and snacks to keep your sugar levels constant, ginger sweets and mints can be soothing and so can ice lollies xxx
Hi smang crackers and plain biscuits are good for nausea. I usually find something sweet helps me so I tend to go for digestive biscuits or hob nobs or something similar. Also ginger worked for me - I just drank ginger tea or else ginger ale. The pukka three ginger tea is lovely xx
Ginger ale sounds appealing and doesn’t make me gag. It’s so weird the thought of food just makes me want to gag... which is so strange because I am such a foodie. Thanks for the message xx
Yeah the more gingery the better I think. I think there is a fentimans one which is soooo nice. Obviously make sure you get the non alcoholic variety! 😄 Hope you feel better soon xx
Thanks Michelle, I’m 7 weeks today. I will give the ginger a try and see if that helps xx
I feel your pain . Having had morning sickness for 5 months there was nothing really that stopped me feeling sick . I tried ginger biscuits from marks as Spencer's , lemon sweets , lemon or lime cordial , ginger tea , travel sickness bands and the list goes on . Nothing worked at all but there are some options you could try . Only thing that kind of worked was buccastem tablets from my gp. Do make sure you try sip water as much as you can as I couldn't even keep that down and ended up in hospital on a drip to hydrate my body . Not nice at all . Hope your are feeling better soon and good luck with the rest of your journey 👍😃
Hi, I was very ill for the first 10 -12 weeks of my pregnancy and even now at nearly 18 weeks I still can't bear the thought of certain foods. Plain Porridge was my saviour and also the orange lucozade sport to keep me hydrated. It was pretty grim at the time but it will pass. Good luck with your pregnancy xx
It’s miserable though, even just a week of it! I’ve had it for over three weeks now but keep reminding myself I’m lucky that I’ve only actually vomited once!
Sorry you are suffering some good tips in your replies just try to keep hydrated and eat very little but often whatever works for you try to ease up as much as possible until you feel a bit better hope that is soon x
My nausea (and a tiny bit of sickness) kicked in the day after I got my blood test results (was 4+1) 😱 thought I’d get a few weeks until it hit at least! It was so bad I couldn’t go to work, hubby bought me everything you’d normally try, but like you even the thought of drinking was bad too! If none of the normal suggestions work and you are getting dehydrated (I was) I highly recommend you get yourself off to the doctors for some anti sickness drugs, I did (got put on cyclizine). Apparently the earlier you nip it in the bud the better. When I was recovering Lucozade was my saviour and I found eating something before I got up in the morning helped, although trying to eat a dry biscuit with a dry mouth was impossible and found apples to be acceptable! It will pass, I’m 12+1 and waiting for my 12 week scan on Saturday, but I’ve gone from 3 tablets a day to 1 and I plan to come off entirely on Sunday and see how it goes 😊
Thanks for the advice, sipping on ginger ale since last night and that seems to helped with the nausea. However, still not wanting to eat and I need to eat take my prenatals. I meet the midwife next week so will see if I can wait until then or will go see my GP. Right now I just keep staring at the prenatals and just can’t...lol
I’m managing bananas, ginger biscuits and sometimes peppermint tea, also fruit juice. Porridge for breakfast is being forced down, lunch is usually ok but dinner is very difficult and I spend time awake at night feeling nauseous, probably because I’ve eaten more than I should but if I don’t eat a decent evening meal then I spend time awake hungry! All the advice online is to eat what you feel like when you feel like you can- lots of ladies suggest ready salted crisps! I’m disappointed to be totally off chocolate and decaf tea, but I guess there are worse things to dislike!!!
It’s so awful isn’t it. I got a piece of toast down and been sipping on ginger ale which has helped the nausea. But other than that the thought of any food just makes me gag. I might try the salted crisps though - the thought of them hasn’t made me gag so that might work...lol
Just like to give you ladies some hope some of you may know that iv suffered real bad with sickness got diagnosed with hg at 9 weeks I literally hated food. Now I'm 14 weeks and it's all gone the sickness the food aversions I'm feeling great in terms of liking food again and no sickness. Hang in there it does and will get better 💝💝😘😘
It's such a uncomfortable feeling isn't it. I am feeling the same I have a food aversion. I can't face to eat meat or eggs so it's porridge, fruit and jacket potatoes for me however ginger biscuits do seem to help with the nausea. Hope it passes quickly for you xx
