I got the call today from my clinic saying I'm good to head to Spain next week for EC.I'm responding well to the Pergoveris (suitable for older women, I've just turned 43, medium dose) and still only half way through stims!
I haven't had a minute to research prep ideas. All I've done today is booked my accommodation in Alicante.
Any quick tips much appreciated so I feel calm and relaxed 🙏 doing this all solo x

no prep required for egg collection. You’ve done all you can prior to stims so just follow your clinics instructions and all will be fine 🤗 good luck! Xx
Yeah I saw that lovely strip of sand!Would love to know what accommodation?
July being high season is obviously really pricey. I've booked a really average room in the old town for 250euros for 5 nights (same as my monthly rent in India where I live half the year!)
We stayed at either The Golf or Port Alicante. Depending on prices/availability when we went. Both are great just different. Both 4 ⭐️ Golf is beautiful as overlooks golf course, lovely gardens round pool, amazing breakfast, room more traditional. Port is uber modern and reception smells amazing! Rooftop pool, breakfast is nice, I’d def choose a balcony room.
I think 250 euros for 5 nights is good although we have had 4 ⭐️ . We stay old town first night as it’s half way between airport and clinic. Then go from clinic next day to beach and stay there.
Overall I think they're brilliant but I've been unlucky with the service, initially forgotten when my point of contact went away, so I missed a period, wasn't advised about the Stork service, a lot of stress ensured trying to get the meds I needed as the clinic is abroad, numerous form filling requests coming in late of stuff that hasn't been completed, lack of explanation regards medication, emergency number not working.
I almost switched to a different clinic early on due to all the mishaps. I just feel like another number basically, very little warmth of service and the poor attention to detail alarms me.
But I stuck with them as I'd already purchased the meds for the protocol.
My friend had a successful DD with them, and it used to be affiliated with the NHS so it felt like the one to use. I was overwhelmed with my test results showing low AMH and having a massive panic and upset about what to do and why had I left it so late....so I didn't have the presence of mind to shop around.
