thickness of lining

hi all,

I was wondering if someone can reassure me. I am due to have FET next week and I’ve had a scan today and my lining was 15.5 mm thick. I didn’t think much of it at first and after “googling” it I read a thick lining is going to be less successful for transfer. Obviously I’m worried and I did speak to the clinic and they checked with the consultant who said it’s fine as latest research suggest less than 16mm is fine. I’ve had two previous FET with good grade embryos. First cycle successful back in 2020 and I’ve got a little boy. The lining was 10.5 mm thick and I had a recent FET in March with a thickness of 10.6 mm and good grade embryo and that failed.

Any thoughts ? Advice. Please I’m feeling super nervous. Doing acupuncture too.

I’ve had lining this thick and clinic always say ‘that’s nice and thick’ so I dont think it’s a problem! I am pretty sure it was around this for my little boy. It also compacts a bit before transfer usually and is very dependant on what day they do the scan as well. I had lining of 10 last week ahead of my FET this week and worried it wasn’t as thick as normal or with my son (even though they said it was fine!!) so I think we just always worry dont we, especially when we’ve had it work before! Best of luck to you for next week 🤗💜 xx

Thank you so much for replying to me ❤️. Just feeling super nervous after a failed cycle. I just thought it was little on the thicker side. My lining previously has always been around 10mm. Scan was in day 12 and transfer is on day 20. Let’s see. I got the same response: “lining is nice and thick”. Best of luck to you too :)

Hello I wouldn't worry about this at all - as soon as you start progesterone your lining will compact down anyway (that's what the progesterone does) so you will probably end up with a 10/11mm lining on transfer day and this is all normal 😁🤞🏻
