Lining thickness

Hi just after some advice please! I had my first scan 10 days after starting Estrogen medication and it only measured 7.8mm I was then told to start progesterone 4 days after. Is this ok? I’m worried my lining is too thin will it continue to grow up until transfer this week?

Hi, it will continue to grow, mine was thinner than that at day 10 and it was fine by tranfer date. 😊

Thanks so much do you know how much it grows by each day? Does the progesterone help?

lining varies but I was told ideally they like a minimum of 7mm.

Hello, it will continue to grow before you take the progesterone but after you take this it will start to compact which is normal.

I've always struggled with a thin lining (struggled to get a 6.5 on transfer) and I am lucky to have a little boy and currently 8 weeks pregnant. Your lining sounds great! Good luck xx

thanks  Pebbles345 my clinic doesn’t do a scan on transfer and I’m worried it will have reduced quite a bit? Congratulations on your little one!cx

Trust on your protocol and just follow what your doctor has recommended. It will continue to grow you'll see.

thanks but I don’t get another scan on the day of transfer so there is no way of knowing?

Is there a way for you to request for a scan?

they’ve said it’s not necessary. Ah I don’t know what to do

You'll just have to trust them Rhea

thanks Christianbaby do you think my lining will go down to 7mm?

I think that normally the body’ s natural way to get a lining to become ‘thin’ again is via your period which effectively expels what was built in preparation for pregnancy. For this reason I wouldn’t worry x

Hi Rhea were we right in telling you not to worry? What is your update?

Hey…mine went from 7mm to 10mm in the space of just over a week. Like the others have said, follow the protocol guidelines and hopefully it will be fine. I’ve just had my transfer and now have the agonising wait.

Also, for peace of mind, perhaps book a private scan. I had to book one separately for something and was so worth paying the £130.

Hope you get on ok xx

hi Habibi87 thanks sorry I don’t understand I am on a medicated FET so won’t get a period? I’m really worried is the lining going to go down further?

Hi Rhea sorry if I confused you more. In short, I think that unless you are bleeding there is no reason to think that your lining will get thinner. In simple terms, you have been building your lining until now. Progesterone tells your body that the lining needs to stay in place. In a medicated FET, if you get a positive you’ll continue to take progesterone until the placenta/embryo produce progesterone on its own. If you are not pregnant you’ll stop the medications and the drop in progesterone will cause your period to start. The period gets your lining to be thin again and a new cycle can begin x

thank you that makes sense x

hi Rhea! I wouldn’t worry too much about your endometrial thickness. It sounds like you’re right on target. The thickness that your RE reported to you was measured during a specific time during your transfer cycle, and normal values are compared to all other women also getting measured during this time. That your lining might compact later shouldn’t be of concern because that’s not normally when the lining is measured. Maybe a more important marker is whether your lining has clearly differentiated into three layers (tri-laminar). I bet it has and that’s a good sign. Call your RE for reassurance.

thanks AcuFertilityDoc ! They said they wouldn’t have proceeded if it didn’t meet the criteria just there’s so much info online about thickness for implantation etc. it’s worrying!
