lining thickness

So I had my day 12 scan today to check my lining thickness prior to FET. It’s only 6.2 despite 8mg in progynova and Estraderm patches and no down regulation. Got to continue meds for another week and then scan again - last time I did this it was a bfn. Any advice on

1) foods or things to do to make my lining bigger

2) whether having an aged lining is going to negatively impact my chances as this is my last chance

My lining was really dragging at thickening up too so they increased my Progynova dose to 4 a day and it did the job within a week. Just hold in there, it will hopefully make it to where it needs to be :)

Hi lovely

Vitamin E is good for helping increase uterine lining. You want a supplement that contains the tocotrienol form of Vitamin E (rather than the tocopherol form, which is cheaper/ more common). This is a good brand: amazon.co.uk/Tocotrienols-D...

Tbh, I'm not sure how much of a difference it'll make in a short time but fingers crossed it helps! Best of luck xx

Sorry to hear this it’s so tough when the lining doesn’t respond. I’ve had numerous issues with my lining over the years. Have you been on estrogen before? After 3 cancelled cycles they decided I was resistant to artificial estrogen as I never responded to it. Natural or mild stimulation cycles have worked for me.

Some things it’s worth trying - vitamin E, raspberry leaf tea, pomegranate and beetroot juice, lots of water and gentle exercise.

Wishing you lots of luck x

I am so sorry to hear of your lining issues. I’ve had exactly the same problem. The only time my lining didn’t thicken was on a medicated FET which unfortunately had to be cancelled. With natural and with stimulated FET the lining was not an issue. I wish lots of luck and fingers crossed it will thicken x

I have had mixed results with the oestrogen - this time I didn’t have down regulation so it should be working with my cycle I would have thought. Water is a really good point I have been busy so not had as much as normal - will up it for the next week! My biggest worry is the lining quality will deteriorate as one dr didn’t like extending the oestrogen period. Thank you! Also bought some pomegranate juice!

I've been there and its so hard. If its your last chance, I really would recommend you take their advice as to whether to go ahead or cancel the cycle and try again. I've had cancelled cycles because of thin lining and it really is heartbreaking - but ultimately your embryo is the most important thing.

BUT you're not there yet and as others have said, hopefully it will continue to thicken with the extra time - and thats perfectly normal and achievable too so dont worry about and aged lining, it will still be fine for a little while long before it starts breaking down.

Things that I have tried/ continue to try to thicken my lining:

- Vitamin E

- L'arginine

- Raspberry Leaf (stop just before transfer)

- Beetroot juice (or just eat lots of beetroot, I cant stomach the juice anymore)

- Brazil nuts

- Acupuncture

- Light exercise

Good luck!

thank you for your advice! 100% will listen to clinic - it’s interested as one dr does not like extending the oestrogen period as she said it deteriorates the lining but who knows! Going for light exercise and Brazil nuts - think it’s a bit late for vitamin e!

congratulations!! That's so good to hear! I struggle with my lining and I'm currently on everything that they have offer! What did your lining get to in the end? I have a baby from another round on just managed a 6.8 so I know it's possible 😊
