So I got a BFP last week and am scheduled for my first scan on the 13th.
However, this morning I got some brownish bleeding on the toilet paper when I wiped. I bled in the exact same way during the 2ww but I assumed that was the implantation bleeding. Now I am technically in week 5.
I have had constantly the feeling of my period starting through the past few weeks so it is hard for me to tell whether there is anything different this morning.
Is there anything I can do? Should I test in the morning to see if the lines are still there or getting weaker? I am thinking this might be a chemical. Anybody else had this experience?

Hi LondonBase. Bron blood is usually from old blood or irritation. If you are using pessaries vaginally, you could switch to your back passage for a few days, in case your cervix is getting irritated. Drink plenty of water, and keep an eye on your urine output, lots of it and nice and pale, in case you have ab infection. You will be having your scan in a week or two, which hopefully will reassure you. Good luck. Diane
Thank you very much for the advice. I have only been taking the pessaries through the back passage so I don't think the cause is irritation, but I will drink lots of water and monitor the situation. My clinic said to take another pessary /day, and go to an EPAU if I get more volume. So not much to do besides wait an pray
I had exactly the same the week before my 6 weeks scan , scan at 6 weeks 5 days showed all was well . I haven’t had it since and now 9 weeks , I would assume it was just old implantation bleeding as I cramped loads in the 2ww. Congratulations on your bfp and try to relax and enjoy 🥰❤️ xxxx
Ah it’s so stressful! If it helps I had brown bleeding when I wiped pretty consistently between weeks 6-13ish and had a successful pregnancy. I also took the pessiaries rectally so mine wasn’t from irritation, never found out what caused it but my clinic wasn’t worried unless it filled a pad. Wishing you loads of luck & congratulations x
I had brown bleeding at around 6 weeks and then a full on red bleed at 7 weeks. Everything was OK and I'm now 21 weeks pregnant with my little boy 🥰. I know it's easy to get stressed about these things (I was besides myself!), but there's so many reasons for bleeding (irritation of the cervix, old blood that gets trapped and it eventually releases, a blood sac rupturing - common after FETs and doesn't harm the baby - etc.). Sending you luck and baby dust x
Hi this was exactly my story. I was bleeding and spotting and cramping from 7 days after embryo transfer up to 12 weeks. ( Many times I though my period arrived). The wariety of bleed was from dark brownish trough proper red up to pinkish. Up to 12 weeks I had two additional scans baby was perfectly fine. They never found any visible cause of bleeding. Most likely the blame was on progesterone witch made more blood circulation in my cervix and womb that's why I was bleeding. ( I always took progesterone back way !!!!!). Currently 18 weeks pregnant baby girls is doing great.
Hi Myshh, congrats on your pregnancy! And thank you for your story, I really hope this is the case with me too. Besides a ton of progesterone I am also taking Clexane & 150 mg of Aspirin for a thrombofilic gene mutation (my blood has a tendency to 'stick') so I am hoping maybe that combined with all the progesterone is the cause, but I guess I won't know until the scan. Never thought I will say this once I saw the two lines, but this wait is harder than the 2ww :))
I felt the same that 6 weeks wait drained me much more than whole IVF proces. Your case is much more complex but it easily could be whole combination of medicine. Fingers cross for positive outcome.
