Estrogen patches advice please!

Hi All, I’m about to start a FET cycle - my last one in June 2023 sadly ended in a BFN! Since then I’ve spoken to 2 different consultants - one suggested ading estrogen patches to my protocol, and the other is happy to go along with that plan. My lining was 7.6mm at my first scan last June. I haven’t previously had any issues with my lining but I guess they are keen to “cover all bases” more this time.

I’m having second thoughts about whether I actually need the estrogen patches in addition to the estrogen tablets. I’m concerned about the risks of taking excessive hormone medication if unnecessary. I have queried this with my clinic but I’m being told “it’s ultimately up to you”!.

Just wondering what you ladies would do, if your previous lining had reached 7.6mm last time without the use of estrogen patches? Would you use estrogen tablets AND patches for your next cycle?

hi there, I was on patches and pills for all my FETs, they were 1. BFN, 2. Early miscarriage at 5.5 weeks and 3. I’m currently 14+3 🤞🏼

I don’t have a very thick lining normally and struggled really to get much above 7mm, I think the max was 7.3 or something. If I was going again though I would do both x

Hi Rosebud. It’s a nice gentle way to support the buildup of your lining and is a method often preferred now. Hope it all goes well. Diane
