Hey lovely - if you managed to hold it in for 25mins most of the active agents would have been absorbed by then, so I wouldn't worry! I've had a fair share of such episodes and I was absolutely fine. Hopefully you'll get through to the clinic soon to get further reassurance xxx
What Jinis said. I was told that as long it's been more than 15 mins since you inserted the pessary then it's fine 😊 What you were seeing in the toilet was probably the waxy 'carrier' and not the active agent itself.
Hiii, I think the pessaries made me go to the toilet for the first few days (unless I had a nervous belly) and the clinic said the same as what the previous responders said. I'd keep an eye on it and if it continues after a few days, perhaps ring for advice (as they said the same to me - but the advice would have been to switch to vaginally). Good luck xx
hey, I had the same panic early on. I was told the same as above, 20 mins and all the actives were likely absorbed. It’s not ideal but it’s not something to worry about. I had to keep switching it up on the beginning, using both vaginally and rectal, but things settled down quick. Call the clinic when you can for peace of mind but try not to worry. Good luck xxx
Hey, have you talked to your consultant about taking them vaginally instead? The first four times I was on pessaries I was told to put them in 'the back door' but, when I moved clinics, my new consultant said the usual practice is to take them vaginally. It was a lot more comfortable and it felt more effective as I wasn't losing as much. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant, so it can't have done any harm! Best wishes x
