I am so disappointed after having my first scan and only seen 5 follicles on day 6 of stimulating. I am having my third IVF cycle in 6 months and already thinking of canceling. I was taking 900mg of COQ10 and 75mg of DHEA of 21century brand and Melatonin 3mg which brand I don't remember.
Is 21 century brand good for IVF.
I need your advice ladies

I know it’s disheartening. We had 24 follicles, 16 collected, 9 mature but 3 fertilised. Caught with all 3 and ended up with two pregnancies. And I thought that we had no chance. The numbers can mean all or nothing. It’s all just a hell of a lot of luck.
I was 33, Amh 12.2. My eggs also take longer to mature, however didn’t know until after collection when the numbers dwindled. But regardless of age and statistics, keep it mind that your either lucky or your not. It’s always 50/50. No reason why it can’t work for you ok your transfer and that you can be one of the lucky ones that day x
I was 40 when I had 6 follicles and only 3 eggs collected (never had empty follicles before ) but that was the cycle that gave me my son so the numbers really don’t mean that much. The previous cycle I had 9 eggs retrieved and 2 blastocysts, both BFN.
My successful cycle I only collected 3 eggs and I’m 37+3 at same age as you. So don’t be disheartened, quality is what you should be focused on. The cycle I collected 7 only I fertilised and ended in BFN. Good luck x
I’ve don’t 4 cycle, first three I had between 10-12 eggs collected each time and 1-3 embryos (mix of day 3&5’s).
4th round I got just 6 eggs and like you was disappointed when I’m scans saw low follicles. However I had been using the supplements like you and came away with 3 day 5’s from that round. So fingers crossed it will
But you shouldn’t get it by yourself without counseling with dr, pls make sure you need it by checking DHEA blood otherwise you may get opposite results from too much androgen .
6 eggs is not bad. I had only 2 eggs from a mini ivf and both turned to very high quality blasts.
Btw most of frozen egg donor packages have 6. So that should mean 6 eggs is enough.
Plus 40 is not that old, be hopeful, some of my friends got pregnant naturally between 40 to 42.
My aunt gave bith to her 3rd by a natural pregnancy when she was 47
Don’t loose hope and I would not cancel the cycle with 6 eggs if I were you! You never know how the next cycle wud be , some cycles starts with fewer eggs.
Again just to make your day bright, the same aunt I talked abt her 3rd, had her first when she was 39 and the 2nd when almost 41 and the 3rd was unplanned!
I know how you feel! It is hard to keep the hope as you worry numbers will dwindle. I also felt disappointment initially after our day 10 scan. But have been trying to give myself positive affirmations since!
On our 10 day scan we only saw 3 follicles. But they were all ready, so we had to trigger to not lose them. As they were the right size. There were a few that was smaller, so sonographer said they might make it, but could not say for certain.
We had egg collection and 3 eggs were retrieved, all mature and all fertilised! So I am just hoping now they are all developing genetically normal! Or at least one!! I only need one really! What I am trying to tell myself! Quality over quantity! We are hopefully having a fresh transfer tomorrow 🤞💫
This time I was on max dose stimulation, but got less numbers. I think every round might be slightly different, but I did not cancel as we were not expecting many. I am “only” 39, but I know I got a low egg reserve for my age. I took Ubiquinone 600mg on the advice of our fertility consultant this time, to hopefully help egg maturity! I was told my egg quality did not look the best back in 2020 when I had my first round of egg collection at 35 (even if I researched and read it starts with the egg).
Last time we had 10 follicles (day 9), 9 eggs retrieved (mature), 8 fertilised and we had 2 day 5 blastocysts! One successful fresh transfer from that round 🥹❤️ Our frostie initially gave us a BFP, but ended in a biochemical pregnancy at viability scan.
So I am hoping my 3 this time are all great quality eggs, even if numbers are lower! 🤞🤞🤞
I hope you are ok and I hope for a good egg collection for you if you go ahead! 🧡💫
Can I ask what your amh was last time you tested? I am about to start all over again at 41 and haven't tested in four years. It was 17. 7 the last time but I'm not expecting much now!
I actually cannot remember what mine was, it has not been tested to my knowledge since 2018. But I think it was low for my age to start with and then I have just had baseline scans which have resulted in a low follicle count prior to stimulations.
I wish you all the best with starting again!! 🧡💫 We just started again in March 24! Last stim round was Oct/Nov 2020.
Thank you for the reply. I know we can't compare as we are all different and this is all really down to luck in the end! These forums can either drive you nuts or be the best support!!
hi, on my day 6 scan I only had 1 dominant and two small. By end of cycle we got 7 follicles, 5 eggs, 3 fertilised, 2 transferred and now I’m 19 weeks with fraternal twins.
5 eggs was like winning the lottery for me as I’ve low amh but I can understand your disappointment if it’s less than usual for you. Just wanted to share a story of lfew eggs resulting in great results to give you some hope if you decide to continue. Good luck. Xo .
Your story is so encouraging. How old were you when you did successful cycle? Did they tranfer 5 day or 3 day embryos? And were you on any supplements?
I am 36. They transferred 2 at day 3. My final one didn’t make it to day 5. I was on loads of supplements - can check my profile for what we did if it helps. But who knows - could have just been luck.
Our first cycle we had zero fertilisation so couldn’t have been more different this time around.
