Hi, I am starting our FET cycle today (cd2) we asked on our treatment consultation if it is ok to travel (not far, 1,5h flight) 1 week after FET but we've been told that it is not advised, that there is no research saying that it should be avoided but the clinic just wouldn't risk, in case this transfer fails and so we wouldn't think that if we wouldn't travel maybe it would work?
With the last 2 FETs, we were just holding back with our life taking every precious etc, and it gave us nothing except heartache, and this time round I thought that maybe we would continue with our life, visit family we haven't seen in year etc.
Did anyone travel by plane after FET and it still worked? Or not work?

Many people have transfers abroad and travel the following days after transfer. I have done it a couple of times and both traveled back about 5 days a week after. Both times failed and the clinic never blamed the travelling, if that tells you anything. Rather the quality of the embryos. If it is for psychological reasons, then I would do what I would feel better about it later.
I’m looking to transfer abroad so as the other poster said, I’ll be travelling imminently afterwards. Also, I’ll be looking for any kind of distraction in the TWW! One podcast I listen to, the host went to New York after transfer, long haul so personally…I would. But I understand them saying you might wonder why it’s not worked if it hasn’t and you travelled. Best of luck x
Hi, I haven't had a BFP yet, but I went on holiday 6 days after my first FET (80 minute flight). At my transfer I said something like "the other thing I need to ask is that we are meant to be flying next week...." the nurse replied "ah amazing, where are you going? I'll get you a travel letter with your meds". We didn't get the BFP but it was the nicest two week wait. I'd definitely go again without hesitation.
I had two transfers so far and after the first one I stayed home, while after the other one I went to NY. Neither of them worked but I didn’t think it was because of the flying in the second. If anything, as someone else mentioned too, it was the easier 2WW out of the two because I had something else to focus on rather than symptom spotting, and I wasn’t tempted once to test early. I’d definitely do it again.
Hi! It's totally understandable to want to carry on with life, especially after going through the rollercoaster of fertility treatments. While your clinic might err on the side of caution, it's worth considering personal experiences alongside medical advice.
In our case, we decided to travel just four days after our transfer. We headed off to Cyprus for our transfer. It was Thursday, I remember. We spent the weekend there with a little getaway after the procedure. And guess what? That very transfer resulted in our now lively, three-and-a-half-year-old bundle of joy.
While some might prefer to take things super cautiously, others might feel comfortable carrying on with plans. Wishing you the best of luck! xx
I had a fresh transfer (2day transfer)in February on Wednesday and on Friday we took a 2,5 hours flight cos we already booked a holiday. 2 weeks later i got my positive test. I am curently 6 weeks. For me it was very helpful to have holiday after transfer, because putting your life on hold its the worse. With or without successful transfer, you have to live your life. If embryo is strong enough it will implant. Good luck!
