Really struggling with how much cyclogest is slowing my guts down! Drinking tonnes of water. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Wholemeal etc but it's not enough.Suggestions for what else to try as its becoming very uncomfortable?
Senna? Movicol? Lactulose?

I did hot lemon water first thing in the morning, before eating breakfast and spoon of physyllium husk in hot water befor bed (turns into tasteless gel, not the nicest thing....). It helped a little with bathroom habits, I also had indigestion and it was really helping with that.
hi hope you’re well. Sorry about this, it’s so uncomfortable! Drink 2 large glasses of water when you first wake up. Try adding more fiber prunes are good , also things like lentils, chickpeas, greener bananas, apples and avocados. Also going for walks. If nothing works, I was told lactulose is pregnancy friendly. Are you in the 2ww? Fingers crossed it’s a good sign 🤞🏼all the best of luck !
I'd constipated all my life until I went gluten free after my first EC last May to lower my thyroid antibodies, which killed two birds with one stone - my BM has so regular that I get the urge 15-30 minutes after I get up no matter what time.
BM would get slow post EC so I asked my IVF doctor and he recommended magnesium (citrate), which has helped.
I'm still taking 120mg magnetism daily post FET while being on 800mg progesterone and 8mg estrogen.
We also eat yoghurt with milled linseed, chia&pumpkin&sunflower seeds.
On top of this, I've been taking Invivo Bio.me femme v, which supplements a family of lactobasilli for vaginal microbiome but since I'm taking it orally it must have been benefiting my gut microbiome too.
I had to eat two portions of beans, chickpeas or lentils everyday to keep things moving! sugar free granola and fruit for breakfast and snack on fruit during the day. works for me.
Another vote for Fybogel - it works within a day or so and much gentler and more predictable than some of the proper laxatives. Also didn't seem to make me feel bloated and full like some of the high fibre foods did. Although eating pears seemed to calm the bloating a bit generally, and warm milky drinks sometimes work to get things going. But Fybogel was the only thing I could rely on (worked after my c-section when absolutely nothing was happening and it was extremely uncomfortable even on the stuff the hospital gave me).
