Whilst I await my follow up appointment with the clinic regarding our failed FET and next steps I’m doing my research reading “it starts with the egg” to improve egg quality and have started taking 2x 300mg of Ubiquinol a day along with vitamin D +k2 drops and folic acid. I wish I knew about all of these things on my last cycle. I also didn’t know I had endemtriosis which came up in an MRI pelvic scan only after I had my egg collection as I had an unforeseen circumstance that halted my fresh cycle. I’m very optimistic for the next cycle that I’ve prepped and researched all that I can to have a successful outcome and hopefully come out with more embryos of good quality. After collecting 15 eggs last round (2022) we managed to get 1 of satisfactory quality but no others to freeze.
Has anyone tried acupuncture alongside IVF ? or have any recommendations/changes that lead to a successful IVF cycle after a failed one? X

Hi Red.i would say not to go overboard with vitamin’s etc. Think of your poor liver sorting them all out. It much prefers a healthy diet. I have heard that acupuncture can help to treat endometriosis. Good luck with your choices. Diane
Hi Diane, thank you for your message ❤️. You’re quite right as I don’t want to go overboard but then I also second guess if I’m taking everything that may improve my chances. It’s such a hard balance. I’ve found an acupuncturist that specialises in women’s health near me so I will be booking my 1st consultation in the hopes that I may a tailored plan may compliment my next IVF cycle and other fertility issues.
Hi Ree_Laine, like yourself we are about to undergo our second IVF cycle following a failed cycle in Nov 23( 10 eggs collected but only one viable and transferred so no wee frozen ones to save). I’ve gone full circle on the preparation and although have been taking pregnacare vitamins for over 2 years I started to get all sorts of stuff from H+B but have decided that actually if I just have a healthy diet and spend my energy on self care and keeping my stress down that’s probably the best I can realistically do. So I’m ditching the extra vitamins and have organised acupuncture sessions to run along side the treatment, signed up to fertility networks zoom yoga sessions and leaning into winter hibernation. I’ve never had acupuncture before so will let you know how it goes! Wishing you a BFP for 2024!✨
Hi lovely, thank you for your reply and making me feel that I’m not alone 🤗. Your story sounds so similar to mine. I had my follow up appointment with the clinic this week regarding the failed transfer. The doctor said that once we do our 2nd cycle in 10-12 weeks time (March/april) that they will review medication and alter a few things as they would have expected me to have around 5 satisfactory embryos considering my AMH. With that being said the aim for me is to produce better egg quality so the doctor has recommended that I lower my BMI currently 28.5 and having a healthy and balanced diet. I’m starting accupuncture tomorrow and the doctor said there’s no harm. He did say not to get too carried away with the vitamins but did suggest Ubiquinol that I started taking 2 weeks ago and the usual folic acid and vitamin D. I feel so much more prepared than before as I’ve done my research on things that may help. I know the fertility industry is so expensive so you don’t want to say you never tried it. Hopefully our next rounds are successful and we’re on the right path 💕✨💕✨. How often will you do accupuncture? It is rather expensive where I am in London but I know most places recommend once a week.
sorry for the late reply. Hope you’re getting on well!! And I wish you lots of virtual support to get your BMI down- it’s such a tricky balance!
I’ve been getting acupuncture weekly … it’s the same price for reflexology in Belfast, I’m sure London would be more expensive. I’m hopefully getting my final scan tomorrow and EC shortly after. I have been sloooooow to respond to stims but thankfully there is some action!! With only one embryo last cycle I transferred on day 3, who knows what will happen this time- busy week ahead!
