I ordered a medi checks test to check my DHEA and testosterone - both incidentally look ok.

Very concerned about the oestradiol result which is 1,131 - wildly high according to parameters. The fsh and lh are also out of range.

This result is mid cycle - day 12 - have short cycles - 25 days and light flow.

I know day 2-3 reading would be very different. Any helpful insight great full received .

Hi uppppatee. They do look quite high to me, but I must admit I prefer Day 2-3 bloods. I’m sure your specialist will be able to decipher them for you. Good luck. Diane

Hi. It may indicate that you might benefit from DHEA treatment. Best to check with your specialist . Diane

I’ve been taking 25mg of dhea since late October - dhea is 7.4. Testosterone has increased from 0.7 to 1.03…. I wonder if taking the dhea has increased the oestradiol ?!

I had progesterone and estradiol bloods done with a finger prick test. The progesterone result was high so I repeated it with a local clinic - which showed a much lower result. I learned the finger test bloods can be inaccurate, so you may want to rerun this if that’s what you did.

Just doing a quick Google and Oestrogen levels are the highest just before ovulation which may be the case here. I think you would need to do the test again on Day 2 or 3 of cycle to get an accurate baseline result.

Maybe you could send the results through to the nurses at your clinic and see if they can check with a doctor for any advice.

Assume your ovulating as 'normal' If you're midcycle you'd expect to have higher Oestrogen level then other times of your cycle, 600-1000 per folicile. Your LH is also high. Check your urine LH you'll likely see it going lighter. Agree with others email your question to the clinic ... I suspect they won't be concerned as they tend to only believe thier own test!

hi Cuppppatea, agree with others, LH, FSH and oestradiol will all increase as you get to ovulation, so that could possibly be the reason but you’d be able to find out if you retest on CD2-3? Testosterone shouldn’t really change during the cycle so hopefully that result is more reliable so great news that is in range xx

I’ve had an oestrogen level this high on day 4 two consecutive months, a scan a few days later showed a mature follicle both times and I ovulated within 46 hours. So likely a follicle recruited in the late luteal phase if the prior cycle. When I spoke to a fertility doctor later they wren’s concerned at all. If you have high LH this may fit with being close to ovulation also
