Sorry if this is TMI, I'm just wondering, I've been using cyclogest pessaries rectally as using them vaginally gave me thrush. My question is, is there a minimum amount of time between using a pessary and then being allowed to have a bowel movement, ie if you have a bowel movement within an hour of using a pessary, would you need to replace the pessary with a new one? I can't find anything about this on Google!
hey, google told me to wait an hour before emptying bowels. Other users I read said it absorbs quickly within 20 mins. Personally I’d rather wait the hour better safe than sorry! Good luck x
Hi Connie. Open bowels if you need to, then when you insert the pessaries, they absorb in 20-30 minutes, so no worries if any leakage after that. Good luck. Diane
