Help please! Pessaries

Hi ladies

I’m 3dp5dt and supposed to do my pessaries twice a day, 12 hours apart but I’ve been having a bloody nightmare of a day, flat battery to begin, had to call out roadside assistance who took me to the garage-got new battery and within 2 minutes of me driving out of the garage a dumper truck went into the back of my car. I’m completely ok-it’s just surface damage, but a pain in the ass all the same. I was meant to be on a ferry this afternoon but all this made me late, missed the ferry and now won’t be home til late.

The problem?? I’m going to be 3 hours late doing my pessary. Is this a big problem or am I worrying about nothing?? I just know when they gave me them they’re very particular about saying they need to be 12 hours apart. Help😩

My clinic are keen on 12 hours apart but others just say twice a day so don't stress about it. Just take them when you can and then go back to when you should take them.

I would perhaps try swapping back to your normal times 30 minutes a time. So next 2.5hrs from when you last took am, then 2 hours tomorrow eve, 1.5hrs then 1, 0.5 then back to when you would normally. Something like that? X

I think it might say something on the instruction leaflet. Are you home yet? X

Never thought to read the instructions!😂 Not home yet but hopefully not too long now. Have a good weekend.xx

You too. Hope you have managed not to panic too much xx

I have been told Morning and Night by our clinic so sometimes it’s not 12 hours x

That’s good. Thank you

I work 12 hours days in another city twice a week so on these days I have been doing my pessaries up to 16 hours apart then I go back to 12 hourly (ish) the rest of the time. My clinic have told me that’s fine and I’m 7+4 today so I’m sure you will be fine xx

I’m sure it won’t hurt, it’s not like you make a habit of taking it late. Don’t stress about a one off. Try not to worry. You’ve had a nightmare of a day so make sure you really unwind tonight xx

I’ve been told by my clinic this morning to start my pessaries tomorrow I asked them about if they needed to be 12 hours apart and they were relexed and just said morning and evening so I’d not worry too much.

I was on a half dose before. Maybe they think you aren't too far off what you should be. Alternatively what mg are they? X

I think you are fine, you already have some level of progesterone which keeps all in order I would’ve say, and being a bit late with single dosage will not cause you much of the problem. Just relax you have enough on your shoulder, you will be fine girl👌

I never completely stuck to the times and all was fine. I even messed up my dose for the first week after transfer and accidentally under-dosed by half. The pessaries in Spain were a different strength to the ones I buy in NZ so the instructions were correct.

None of it made a difference - I’m 17 weeks.

My clinic told me morning and evening and mentioned nothing about timings. I’m sure you will be fine 😀

You poor thing, what a day! You’ve had enough to stress about today. As it’s a one off I’m sure it’s not going to make too much of a difference. Put your feet up now and take it easy xx
