Is anyone else really bad at making treatment decisions? 😫

To give a bit of background, the reason we had to start ivf was because I have PCOS and just didn’t ovulate. After a long journey with numerous cancelled cycles due to thin lining, I had a hysteroscopy which found severe scar tissue which had to be removed and then shortly after we were lucky enough to get pregnant with my now two year old (even with a 4.6mm lining).

We’ve been trying for a sibling for about a year now and had 1 MMC, 2 x chemicals (one through trying naturally) and 1 BFN 😢

Following the last one we are looking into any other investigations we can do, you may have seen my posts on hysteroscopys.

My consultant thinks it’s unlikely that there is any scar tissue in there again as my last lining was the thickest and best quality he’d seen it, however after the D&C there is a small possibility. And he said it was worth investigating especially as my health insurance will cover it.

Because I do now ovulate some months we try naturally between medicated cycles.

Due to the Christmas lab closures I was initially told I’d have to go on the pill to delay my period in order to start at the right time for a Jan transfer. So we wouldn’t be able to try naturally this month. So I was really pushing to get the hysteroscopy done so it wasn’t a ‘wasted’ month.

After my consultation today my doctor has said that I don’t need to go on the pill and he will find a way to make it work for the FET in January.

So now I have to decide whether to go ahead with the hysteroscopy on Monday which means it’s unlikely we would get pregnant naturally this month but should be able to go ahead with the FET or we could leave it until after the January FET.

Part of me wants to delay it (as we think the scar tissue is unlikely) so we give ourselves two chances now (and avoid an invasive uncomfortable procedure hopefully) but if I don’t ovulate this month then I may regret it.

I feel like there’s never a good decision and when faced with these decisions in hindsight I feel like I should have done something different.

Sorry for the long post (and being a serial poster atm). It’s useful to write it down sometimes. Any thoughts welcome though 🙏🏻 xxx

i had 3 hysteroscopies in 5 years ! Scar tissue came back often .

scar tissue comes back naturally… the point is to have the best situation when you do your ivf! Hysto / prp / hormones all works to give you the best chance for an ivf !

If 3 months pass from prp you have to repeat . Hysto maybe every 1-2 years depending of your organism!
