Cyclogest and Lubion

Hello my fellow warriors

So I am starting lubion and cyclogest tomorrow for a FET next Tuesday. My clinic has recommended every 12 hours for the meds. I am out Saturday and just wondering if it is feasible to take these meds when out and about, particularly the cyclogest pessary as I remember from last time (with a different pessary) I had to lie down to use it.

Cyclogest pessaries seem smaller, is that just like inserting a tampon? Can it be inserted on the move?

The lubion I am happy to do in a ladies toilet. Not ideal but needs must.

Many Thanks

Sending lots of love and baby dust to you all xxx

You need to lie down after cyclogest if taking it vaginally. If you take it rectally it is much easier to move around straight afterwards x

I’m on cyclogest 4 times a day and do them vaginally. I just go about as normal afterwards. I try to lie down for abit doing my morning and evening ones but not the ones during the day. Xx

Hi, I do both on the go and have easily accommodated them when out for dinner/theatre etc. The cyclogest is just like a tampon, except I wouldn't recommend running around for half an hour or so after you do it. For lubion I am given separate needles for loading up and injecting so it is a bit of a pain in public toilets but do-able. Just make sure you have your phone for a bright light and something clean to lay things out on while you prepare everything. You will be a pro by Saturday. Good luck!

Thanks WillowPark

Its dinner and theatre I am going out for. Different cities for both, so out all day. And thanks for the tip about taking something clean with me to lay things on never thought of that.

Definately no running about, lol xx

I think you will be fine with that. They say it is important to do the progesterone on time, so the most difficult bit sometimes is making sure you are near a toilet at the right time. (Even harder if those you are with don't know what is happening or why you need to go.) I also feel the pressure as it takes me substantially longer to do the meds than it does to go for a quick pee - god knows what people think I'm up to 🤣 It means you can't dally about being nervous though! x

Considering I’m on public transport at that time, it should be very interesting.

Brings a new perspective to overheating 😂xxx

Just think of any hiccup as a funny story for the future... 🤣 I see alot of people recommending lying/sitting down. My clinic told me that as long as anything which leaks out comes out in a different shape to how it went in (ie anything afterwards is a residue rather than a lump or partially formed pessary) then your body will have absorbed the progesterone. Sorry if TMI but might help to know that!

you do need to lie down for 20mins with the cyclogest or at least sit down so if you can do that it should be okay. I have done them driving to a concert, at a hen night out for dinner etc. alternatively if it’s not a late one or doesn’t start too early you could tweak your timings by up to an hour or so that day to do it when you are home or before you go. It is a bit of a pain as they are also a bit messy so you might need a liner but we do still have a life to lead so what else can we do 🤗 xx

Thanks for the reply Twiglet

You’re right, we do! And this time I am really trying to make sure this journey isn’t all consuming. Xxx

I took 4 x cyclogest and 2 x Utrogestan, and really if you don't do it lying down you will see that it comes out a little more than usual. In my case they told me that even so, with such an amount of progesterone, nothing was happening... But it was more than yours ☺️
